Migraine: The most likely cause for this symptoms is occipital migraine which causes a greying out of the vision the the corresponding peripheral 1/2 of vision of each eye with surrounding flashing lights lasting up to 2 hours and leaving with no trace. In regards to retinal detachment, symptoms are red eye, blurry vision, black spots and lights, pain at times, noticeable dimness all in one eye only

I assume you're saying you have a blind spot centrally and your seeing scintillating light peripherally--typically lasting about 15 minutes, not usually associated with any other symptoms.
