My Boyfriend is experiencing painless white bumps, pubic area (looks like pimples); warm water aggravates it. 2 months. Hydrocortisone cream?

Maybe: Hydrocortisone cream can help decrease itching and minor inflammation's redness or bumpiness. One's primary care doctor may need to examine the rash to see if there is yeast (fungus) overgrowth, or bacterial overgrowth, on the skin or at the hair follicles. If one does not shave that area, it should not be an ingrown hairs problem. ...Read more

Needs to be seen.: There are multiple things it could be, from eczema (an allergic condition) to scabies (bugs in the skin), to folliculitis (infected hair roots) to many other things that can cause bumps. Rashes can not be reliably diagnosed without being seen. Go to your pediatrician or a dermatologist. A rash that's bothering your child deserves care. ...Read more

I been getting small painless bumps in pubic area and at the top of each one there is a hair sticking out of the top of it??

Folliculitis: The skin is getting irritated around the hair follicles. Can be more common if you have curly hair and If you shave the area. If they don't seem infected (visible white pus) there is no danger. You can try soaking the area to allow the hairs to make their way through the skin more easily without causing irritation. Try using a washcloth gently to remove dead skin that could block the follicle. ...Read more

What can I do to help the bumps in my pubic area go away?

What can I do to help the bumps in my pubic area go away?

Stop shaving, 4 now: Razor-bumps result from shaving/cutting the hair too short, thus causing the hair to get stuck under the skin causing the bumps. Basically these are trapped hair follicles. Use of some exfoliating skin lotion/cream may help the trapped hair to come through to surface and thus resolve the bumps. So, stop shaving too closely will reduce this. Laser/electrolysis is expensive, but no bumps! Good luck. ...Read more

Folliculitis?: This is obviously some sort of bacterial infection in the skin, like folliculitis becoming boils, maybe due to staph or strep. This is a lot more common recently when many young people shave the pubic area. Since they are painful and large, you should see a doctor; you might need an antibiotic. In the meantime, no shaving for a while. Don't worry about STDs, which don't behave this way. ...Read more

Folliculitis: You probably have inflammation (due to bacterial infection) of some hair follicles and with them some sweat glands (folliciltis/hidradenitis). This may happen sometimes, especially if you shave this area and you injure the skin in the process. Try applying an antibiotic cream or a mixture of an antibiotic cream and a hydrocortisone cream a few times; if no healing, see your dr. ...Read more
