Needs to be seen.: There are multiple things it could be, from eczema (an allergic condition) to scabies (bugs in the skin), to folliculitis (infected hair roots) to many other things that can cause bumps. Folliculitis: The skin is getting irritated around the hair follicles. Can be more common if you have curly hair and If you shave the area. If they don't seem infected (visible white pus) there is no danger. You can try soaking the area to allow the hairs to make their way through the skin more easily without causing irritation. Possibly pubic lice?: These insects (phtirus pubis)can be picked up if you sleep on an infected bed/linen. You should see a physician when the hair has grown and you actually have the symptoms. ...Read more

What can I do to help the bumps in my pubic area go away?

Stop shaving, 4 now: Razor-bumps result from shaving/cutting the hair too short, thus causing the hair to get stuck under the skin causing the bumps. Basically these are trapped hair follicles. Use of some exfoliating skin lotion/cream may help the trapped hair to come through to surface and thus resolve the bumps. So, stop shaving too closely will reduce this. Laser/electrolysis is expensive, but no bumps! good luck. ...Read more
