It is possible that a very subtle fracture may be more easily identified a week or so after the injury. Simply put, the body has cells that help "clean up " the injured area of bone. Is cast too tight?: Sometimes, there is swelling after a cast is applied. Such swelling can be serious and cause ongoing pain. Generally, if your broken bone is casted correctly, there is not much pain on a non-weight bearing area. Are you using your arm too much or putting strain on it? Have you reinjured it?
