Which Vitamin B Supplements Should I Take If Stressed At 55
Stress affects most people in some way. Acute (sudden, short-term) stress leads to rapid changes throughout the body. Almost all body systems (the heart and blood vessels, immune system, lungs, digestive system, sensory organs, and brain) gear up to meet perceived danger. These stress responses could prove beneficial in a critical, life-or-death situation. Over time, however, repeated stressful situations put a strain on the body that may contribute to physical and psychological problems. Chronic (long-term) stress can have real health consequences and should be addressed like any other health concern. Fortunately, research is showing that lifestyle changes and stress-reduction techniques can help people learn ...Read more
B vitamins: Talk with your physician, but most can benefit from a good b complex containing b6, thiamine, b12, folate, (folic acid) niacin, riboflavin, etc. Alternately, you could use a high-quality multivitamin that offers these as well as antioxidants and minerals. Magnesium in the form of magnesium glycinate is very helpful, and less likely than other forms to cause diarrhea. ...Read more
I take vitamin c, whitening and breast enhancer pills as a supplement..Do i need to take it different time? If so, when should I take those supplement?
My vitamin d 25 hydroxy is low at a 27.8. How do I know which vit d should I take? Can i take a vitamin D3 1, 000 pill to help raise it?
Vitamin D: Although there is some controversy about the cutoff of normal level of vitamin d, it is generally agreed that above 30 is a normal level. So, your level is only slightly below that, and 400-500 iu of vit d3 supplement should be sufficient, and 1000 iu will certainly raise it above 30. Depending on your risk for osteoporosis, higher levels of vit d may be recommended. ...Read more

For a hydroxy vit d deficiency- should I take vit d2 or vit D3 supplements? And what dose should I take to improve it?
Am taking 50k iu vit 8wks for vit d deficiency. Should i take magnesium as well to support absorption and decrease muscle pain? If so what dosage? Ty!
Don't think so: I see no reason to take magnesium with this good dose of vit d. If you wonder about deficiency of magnesium, you can ask your doc to check levels. It is ok to take otc mag 250 mg or 400mg daily for a few days on your own without blood test. But, if you you have kidney disease or take other prescriptions you need to clear it with your doc since interaction may occur. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I'm starting Accutane and was told not to take multivitamins. Is it still ok to take vitamins d, e and b complex?
Yes: The only vitamin you need to avoid while on Accutane is vitamin a. Many multivitamins don't even have pre-formed vitamin a but only a as its precursor, beta-carotene, which is safe to take, so it's safe to take a multivitamin that has only beta carotene and not vitamin a (often labelled as retinol, retinal or retinoic acid or palmitate). ...Read more
See below: The appropriate dose of biotin depends on several factors such as the user’s age, health, and several other conditions. At this time there is not enough scientific information to determine an appropriate range of doses for biotin. Keep in mind that natural products are not always necessarily safe and dosages can be important. Be sure to follow relevant directions on product labels and consult your pharmacist or physician or other healthcare professional before using. There is no recommended dietary allowance (RDA) established for biotin. The adequate intakes (AI) for biotin are 7 mcg for infants 0-12 months, 8 mcg for children 1-3 years, 12 mcg for children 4-8 years, 20 mcg for children 9-13 years, 25 mcg for adolescents 14-18 years, 30 mcg for adults over 18 years and pregnant women, and 35 mcg for breast-feeding women. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
As per week i am taking vitamin d 3drops glucophage also as u say it should not take with vitamins should i wait to complete my vitamin d course of2 m?
It's OK: Hi. I don't know who told you you can't take metformin with vitamins, but that is utterly incorrect. It is true that vitamin D is better absorbed if taken with food, and that metformin's tolerability (at least early on) may be better if taken with food. It is NO PROBLEM to take metformin and vitamin D together. Bon appétit! ...Read more

I take a multivitamin everyday. Can i take vitamin B12 separately as I have a deficiency(175). Also may i take a separate vit c supplement ?
May not need vitamin: Before you start taking any supplement, make sure you have enough water in your body. Drink 2qts daily, everybody knows that already. Now, duplicate everything else you drink that isn't milk or fresh juice. If you drink a can of soda pop, drink 12 more ounces of water. Get your body cleaned out. Then if you still have leg cramps, see your doc. ...Read more
Can I take a multivitamin and a vitamin D together at the same time? I have always taken multivitamin but now Dr. recommends Upping my vitamin D
YES, a good idea...: The average multivitamin has about 400 iu of Vit D though the new RDA for most people is 600 iu. However, most adults need 5000-10,000 iu/day to achieve optimal levels of D, which are between 50-80. Thus,I advise my patients to take at least 5000 iu/day in addition to what is in their multivit. After doing this for a few months recheck levels and adjust accordingly. See http://tinyurl.com/2chkcer ...Read more
IAm16 weeks pregnant could i take slow release vitamin C 500mg and multivitamins and iron .is it safe during pregnancy if i take ?
Vitamin D was low 17nmol/l.I took vit D supplement 10,000 IU for 2month it become 156 nmol/l .should I take supplement always ?!or stop¡
Depends on sun exp.: 156 nmol/l = 62 ng/ml which is just where you want it (optimal levels are 50-80). But if you stop the levels will likely decline, so it seems wise to continue 10,000 iu/day. The only other way to get significant amounts of D is via exposure to mid-day sun without use of sun screen. If you don't get sun, then it is wise to continue supplementation.
