Probably: She could try sleeping propped up to see if it helps. Does it happen only after supper? If it is more frequent she should se the dr. If not she could try zantac (ranitidine) or prevacid. Over the counter to see if it helps. If not see the doctor. ...Read more

Can be fixed: First, objective testing to document gerd (ph test) and correlate symtoms, along with endoscopy, upper GI contrast study and manometry should be done. If appropriate, stertta procedure done endoscopically or surgical procedure can be highly effective, but aren't perfect.
