Can you take fkexeril if you've recently had a heart attack?

Can you take fkexeril if you've recently had a heart attack?

Yes: I consider flexeril, (cyclobenzaprine hcl) a muscle relaxant, to be like a distant relative of valium type medications and if you stay with recommended doses for a short time, the recent heart problem should be no problem as long as you have recovered from the acute phase of the heart attack and have no complications. Your md is your best guide, however. ...Read more

I am 61 yrs. Old. I've recently gone from irbbb to complete rbbb. How much greater is my risk of heart attack or failure?

No greater: Rbbb is a common finding having no bearing on one's risk for developing a heart attack or congestive heart failure. The "block" refers to an electrical not a vascular block, and the heart is in most cases easily able to reroute the electrical stimulus down another pathway. ...Read more

Chest pain I've had a bad migraine for two days and recently started having chest pain. Its been going on for about an hour so I'm pretty sure I'm not having a heart attack or stroke. I'm also only 18. Have tried all my usual migraine medications but they

Chest: Chest pain is very worisome. Although you are at low risk for a heart attack or stroke, these things are possible. More importantly severe conditions such as aneurysms, aortic dissections, pneumonia, etc, can be the cause. Also costochondritis, asthma, and even gastric reflux can be to blame. I suggest if you are still having pain please present to your local urgent care or emergency department. On the other hand, if you are feeling better, you should still find a medical provider to handle your migraines and issues as they come up. Search for for low income community clinics in your area and/or contact your local county hospital for resources. Best of luck. ...Read more

I recently had a mild heart attack, which had a heavy pressure then pain in my chest. I have copd, now having crushing center chest pressure. Help?

Time to call 911: A person with "crushing center chest pressure" should see the doctor right away. The wisest thing to do is call 911. The paramedics have oxygen, medications, and can do an ekg. The E.R. Doctor can evaluate for a possible heart attack. Even if it is not a heart attack, the E.R. Usually can provide diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more

32yo, restinghr=60. Recently started biking 2 lose 60lbs. Had night of bad sleep, upper body aches & panic, and now rhr is 45. Scared of heart attack!?

Probably OK: I am so glad that you decided to do something to improve your health. I can't quite make out what you meant by your current resting heart rate, but the other things you describe don't sound medically serious. If you haven't done so, I would suggest you contact your doctor and get a physical exam before resuming your biking. That way you can get advice and reassurance before your start again. ...Read more

I have recently quit smoking after 30 years. Am I now safe from lung cancer and heart attack?

Congratulations!: No one is safe, but you will steadily move from very unsafe (all smokers) to safer with each passing year. There is benefit in lung cancer reduction by quitting even up to 65 years of age. Best never to start. I stupidly smoked and quit @ age 33. Latest data say quit before 35, normal risk of non-smoker. ...Read more

Can a pinched nerve cause heart attack like symptoms? Sharp pain in left sternum and down left arm. Have been to cardiologist recently. Heart is good

Yes: A nerve root compression in your neck (cervical spine) can do this - at your age, a ruptured disc would be the most likely culprit, usually trauma related. Tumors are thankfully rare but in the differential diagnosis. An MRI and EMG would confirm this. ...Read more
