Eat fish for Omega 3: Our bodies don't convert omega 3's from flaxseed into the epa & dha readily available in fish (oil). There are some attempts to make epa & dha from seaweed & algae but otherwise, read label for epa & dha content. You won't see much from flaxseed products nor will you get much conversion either. Is omega-3 fish oil good for the liver?

Is omega-3 fish oil good for the liver?

Take better care!: Don't waste your time, money, or health--liver "detoxing" is worthless, & liver supplements can't fix a diseased liver. If you indeed have liver disorder, see a specialist who can help design appropriate treatment for you. At this time, re-evaluate what you're taking that may hurt the liver (e.g. over-the-counter agents, herbals, too much alcohol--as you asked about before). ...Read more

Would flax seed oil or fish oil be a better blood thinner?

Would flax seed oil or fish oil be a better blood thinner?

Comparable effects: Both fish oil and flax oil contain omega 3 fatty acids which are known to significantly thin the blood. With both the effects are dose-related; higher amounts thin the blood more. I do not know of any studies comparing their effects on thinning blood but would expect they would be fairly comparable. Which is better to use:corn oil, sunflower oil or canola oil?

None for cooking: None of these oils are healthy to cook with! most corn & canola oil is genetically modified so i would avoid if not organic. Sunflower is healthy raw. For cooking best choices are olive oil (for low heat- under 350 degrees) and coconut oil for higher heat.
