It works well: Baby acne is a transient process that lasts for weeks to months & seems to stabilize with mild soaps like dove. A mild 1/2% cortisone cream no more than once daily can calm down the most irritated areas. ...Read more

Can dial antibacterial soap help acne?

Can dial antibacterial soap help acne?

Basically no: Acne is a non-hygiene-related disease, and the bacteria that cause it are deep and won't be touched by bathing soap. If topical benzoyl peroxide hasn't helped your acne after two weeks, get with your personal physician. It's a serious, chronic disease that's often a grave personal and professional liability. Do what you have to. ...Read more

Are there any natural alternatives to use for acne soap?

No: If the "natural"remedies worked there'd be no acne. In fact, the acne soap that you buy doesn't work well. I hope that what somebody's told you about "natural" being better isn't preventing you from getting scientific rx for your acne. All acne can be controlled and being an 18 year old man is hard enough without misinformation preventing you from getting a clear complexion. All acne's manageable. ...Read more

Is sulfur soap good for acne?

Sulfur and Acne: I've treated acne for years and have never recommended sulfur, but apparently, sulfur has been used for a long time for the treatment of mild skin conditions including acne. It supposedly works by as a mild peeling agent. There are other more mainstream peeling agents available. You may want to visit your local dermatologist/facial/plastic surgeon/esthetician. Good luck- let me know if you try it! ...Read more

I have an acne problem. What kind of soap would you advise me to dry my skin?

Acne washes/soaps: I'm guessing you're from Germany although I'm not sure why your location is "Vereinigte Staaten". Here in the States, there are many over-the-counter acne washes & soaps, none of which are proven better than the rest, which is why they all vie for marketshare. You'll need to try individual ones out on yourself. Given your age, discuss your concerns w/your Family Doc as you may have rosacea. ...Read more

I tried everything but I don't know what to do for acne. Can a soap or a lotion help me with this?

Tried everthing?: Soaps and lotions won't help, but if this is actually acne, scientific rx will make it vanish. If topical benzoyl peroxide hasn't cleared you in two weeks, your physician will add prescription-strength rx until something does. Remember it's manageable but not curable. ...Read more

My son is 6wks and has baby acne. How do I treat it? I've been washing it with mild soap for a week and its not clearing up

No need to treat: Any differently from what you are doing. It is a benign, self-resolving condition, caused by the hormones passed on from mom to baby. It usually peaks at 4-6 weeks and then resolves, as those hormone levels diminish in your baby. Regular acne treatments will not make it go away any faster and may be irritating to your baby's skin and make it worse. If it continues past 3 months, talk to his doctor. ...Read more

Are there any prescribed acne body soaps or washes available if so what are they called. Like is there one called acnex soap. I need specific names

There are: OTC there are several skin cleansers containing salycilic acid and a few with benzoyl peroxide. Get the generics because they are the same for less money. If you have significant acne they will be of little use and you should see a dermatologist. Most adult women with acne respond best to oral spironolactone and to little else. It is safe and cheap. ...Read more
