Need further eval: 3 beers should have nothing to do with having rectal bleeding, but are at the upper limit of what is considered a safe drinking range for women (4 or fewer and average of 1 or less drink per day). If a rectal exam did not show any cause, it would be prudent to get a referral to a GI specialist to see if they felt that a proctoscopy or colonoscopy was indicated, depending on personal/family history. ...Read more

Partly: Rubber band ligation is for treatment of internal hemorrhoids only. External hemorrhoids and skin tags are too sensitive for rubber banding to be tolerable. These need to be excised if necessary, but may be left alone if not painful. ...Read more
