Which Hormone Stimulates Ovulation In The Female
Puberty & fertility: Regulates pubertal development & overall growth plus essential for fertility & sperm production.Fsh "matures" sperm producing cells in the testes. These cells, called spermatogonia, are stimulated to undergo meiotic division. This causes the full complement of 23 pairs chromosomes to split into 23 single chromosomes for the sperm nucleus. One of which is either an x or a y which determine fetal sex. ...Read more
A hormone (from greek ὁρμή, "impetus") is a chemical released by a cell or a gland in one part of the body that sends out messages that affect cells in other parts of the organism. Only a little amount of hormone is required to alter cell metabolism. In essence, it is a chemical messenger that transports a signal from ...Read more
Many hormones: Lh (leutinizing hormone); fsh (follicular stim hormone); gh (growth hormone); TSH (thyroid stim hormone); acth (adrenocorticotropic hormone); prolactin. The posterior pituitary makes oxytocin and vasopressin. Men have the same hormones in pituitary; just different responses from the gonads. ...Read more

Melanocytes: Melanin is produced by melanocytes located in your hair, eyes, and skin. It is the pigment that is responsible for skin color. They are not produced by the pituitary. You might be thinking of melatonin which is produced by the pineal gland and is responsible for the modulation of wake/sleep patterns and seasonal functions. I hope this useful. Take care and well wishes. ...Read more
Pituitary Gland: Tsh (thyroid stimulating hormone) is made in the pituitary gland, which lies just below the brain. The brain and pituitary monitor circulating levels of thyroid hormone. If thyroid levels are low, the pituitary releases higher levels of TSH to get the thyroid gland to make more thyroid hormone. If thyroid levels are high, lower levels of TSH provide less stimulation to the thyroid. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What are the hormones involved in regulating the menstrual cycle in females if the egg is fertilized?
A deficiency in the release of vasopressin (antidiuretic hormone) by the posterior pituitary gland. Why?
Possibly infarction: Possibly a tumor or something else. Lack of blood supply to the pituitary gland or a pituitary tumor may change the secretions of adh (vasopressin). However, there are other causes also, such as pregnancy that can cause this area to be infarcted (loss of blood supply). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What hormone inhibits the secretion of adh (vasopressin)? And what situations override the release of this inhibiting hormone?
ADH (vasopressin) secretion: ADH (vasopressin) is mostly controlled by plasma osmolality and plasma volume. Diabetes insipidus occurs when ADH (vasopressin) is not secreted (head trauma, pituitary tumor) or when the kidney does not respond to it (nephrogenic di). Ethanol inhibits adh, (vasopressin) as does atrial naturetic protein, but these are lesser influences than osmolality and volume. ...Read more
During the 7 days of menses, which hormone is higher and which is lower between estrogen and progesterone?
Both: At the beginning of the menstrual cycle both estrogen and Progesterone are quite low as the cycle is reset. Estrogen begins to rise first - peak shortly before ovulation and declines. After ovulation Progesterone begins to rise. If no pregnancy ensues Progesterone levels fall and the cycle begins again. ...Read more
Can testostetone change into female hormones in the male body when given the pellets by your doctor?
To an extent: Excess amounts of testosterone given to a male can be metabolized into estradiol. This is particularly the case in overweight or obese men, because it is the fat cells that metabolise testosterone into estradiol. This is also why men on Testosterone therapy need to take an aromatase inhibitor like arimidex (anastrozole). ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
Many: Estrogen is produced usually when an egg is developing at the beginning of the reproductive cycle, responding to a FSH elevation from the pituitary. Then the LH surge occurs causing ovulation, which then produces Progesterone to help maintain implantation if pregnancy occurs. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Why does mefenamic acid decrease female fertility what does it do to a female body ie ovulation hormaones?
It doesn't : I answered this a day ago, and don't usually repeat so you can get answers from other doctors. Since you're still asking and no ones answering, i say again: it doesn't. I wasn't guessing. Ponstel (mefenamic acid) (in the us) is a drug like advil or ibuprofen. It doesn't affect fertility. There are rhesus monkey studies where high doses of NSAID inhibit ovulation, but if you're not a monkey i wouldn't fret. :). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Pituitary and ovary: The pituitary hormones FSH and LH help the egg sac, or follicle grow and mature. A sudden surge of LH induces ovulation. The ovary produces estradiol, to prepare the pelvic organs and progesterone, after ovulation, to stabilize the endometrial lining for pregnancy. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

White mucus week after ovulation. Its last for one day. What is it?The decline in hormone levels? Thanks
Hormone response: white mucus is not diagnostic of anything specific however if it occurs on a regular basis mid cycle, it might signal a decrease in progesterone secretion in a woman. As woman's hormone levels cycle every month, and are responsive to multiple chemical changes one would have to measure blood levels over the month to document a decrease in hormone levels. ...Read more
Can a ovulation test be positive for ovulation when in fact ur actually pregnant? I have heard the test can get the hormones mixed up!
My cycle has never affected my moods before, but recently i've started to feel emotional while ovulating. Have my hormones changed? Is this normal?
Probably: People frequ ently experience mood shiftts per-period. Many times it starts in adolescence and continues regularly.Check with others your age (you'll have more time to share information) and see if their experience is very different. If in doubt see your gynecologist. If the emotionality is really problematic and your dr sees it as different, check with a psychiatrist. ...Read more
Im 24, with low hormone levels 1:how does it effect chances of conception/ttc?
2: what does this mean?
3:is ovulation between day 9-16 on 28 cycle?
Hormones is a very broad term. Please Send exact numbers and normals for the lab I used.
I am wondering if an ovulation test would always be positive when pregnant. I know they test dif. hormones, but it seems this Q has mixed responses. ?
Sometimes, but: The shortest answer I can give is: OPK and hPT will both detect hCG (pregnancy hormone) so can be used as pregnancy tests, BUT the OPK is not as sensitive to hCG. Practically this means hPT will correctly show pregnancy before the OPK can detect it; making the OPK a pretty lousy way to check pregnancy. Hope this helps. ...Read more
