Cod liver oil OK: There are 5 main groups of seafood: bony fish (cod), crustaceans (shrimp), bivalves (clam), cephalopods (squid), gastropods (squid). There is cross-reactivity within each group but rarely between groups, so cod is ok with shellfish allergy. Probiotics are healthy but have minimal effect on mouth fungus (thrush). Good mulitvit, Vit D: It's best to get vits from your diet, but the majority of americans don't get enough vit a, e, d, folic acid, calcium, mag. &chromium from their diets & over 1/3 are deficient in c, zinc & b6. Thus, unless you have an exceptionally healthy diet it is wise to take a high quality mulivit. Plus about 5000 iu of d in fall & winter (year-round if you wear sunscreen or avoid sun). The trade off is that people often don't remember to take things multiple times/day, and if you forget, you're better taking a bunch all at once than not taking it at all.
