Probably not: Sertraline does not guarantee weight loss although some patients would spontaneously lose weight due to the side effects of the medication or the treatment of an atypical depression. Chronic use Ativan (lorazepam): While this is a very common story, it is not good medicine to be on daily or chronic use of benzodiazepines. Ativan (lorazepam) is in this class of drugs.
