Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Where the baby located at 14 weeks pregnant?

Where the baby located at 14 weeks pregnant?

Midway: At 12 weeks the top of the uterus is at the level of the pubic bone. At 20 weeks it's at the level of the belly button. At 16 weeks it's in between the pubic bone and the belly button. So at 14 weeks the top of the uterus would be slightly above the pubic bone. The baby, inside the uterus would be at the level of the pubic bone. ...Read more

Is it possible at my first ultrasound at 14 weeks I was really 12 weeks and the baby just measured at 14 weeks. cant use LMP I didnt have periods(depo?

OB math problem: Any ultrasound or other method of calculating gestational age has a "fudge factor" of plus or minus 2 weeks. So the baby's age is just a "guestimate" by MD parameters until labor starts and the baby shows up on the scene. ...Read more

If i am 14 weeks pregnant will my baby measure at 12 weeks or 14 weeks based on ultrasound.

If i am 14 weeks pregnant will my baby measure at 12 weeks or 14 weeks based on ultrasound.

Same thing, 14 weeks: if your pregnancy is dated correctly from your last menstrual period, and if the ultrasound is also interpreted correctly they will both say 14 weeks. You do not adjust the ultrasound for the 2 "extra" weeks from the last menstrual period. ...Read more

How is it that I am 14weeks pregnant an bby measures at 14 weeks when dating pregnancy you arent pregnant the first two weeks?

Due date: The dating for pregnancy is based on your last period and when you ovulate. With a normal 28 day cycle, you would ovulate on day 14 (2 weeks) and miss your period 2 weeks later (4 weeks pregnant). The ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy 2 weeks later would place you at 6 weeks. ...Read more

If i am 14 weeks pregnant will my baby measure at 12 weeks or 14 weeks due to the fact you are two weeks pregnant before you are really pregnant?

Confusing: 14 weeks as the measurement is taken from the LMP not conception date. So 14weeks is always really 12 weeks pregnant, confusing but true. Ultrasound measurements always have a margin of error that is usually +/- a week. Hope that helps and congratulations. ...Read more

I found out at 14 weeks that my due date is july 17 i was told at 21 weeks around the same date.Could my due date be a month off if the baby is small?

No.: Your due date was established on your original ultrasound at 14 weeks with great accuracy (+/-7 days). If the fetal growth is poor using that due date, you need to see a maternal-fetal medicine specialist asap to help you figure out why and what (if anything) can be done (genetic, placental, infectious etiologies among others). Take Folic Acid 1-5 mg daily, avoid all exercise and best of luck! ...Read more

I am 40 years old expecting my fifth baby all four babies delivered normally ihave 23 wksof pregnancy my baby position is not ideal it is vertical ?

Confusing question: Babies are usually carried in a vertical position. Do you mean bottom first ? If so there is a chance that surgical delivery would be safer for a big baby. Yet you do have quite a while for baby to turn head down. ...Read more

I am 36 weeks pregnant, baby has Umbilical Varix. I am being told that they want to induce at 37 weeks. Is this the right way to go?

Minimal data : to know. There is very little info about this diagnosis. There is some that shows potential chromosome issues. Because it is rare, I would seek a second opinion on the original diagnosis. If confirmed, some recommend testing for chromosomes. Also echocardiogram, heart ultrasound may be needed. Early delivery may be warranted depending on the results of the work up. ...Read more

I had a miscarriage because my babies were in the same sac i only pass 1 placenta can i have a healthy baby getting pregnant 4 months time?

Yes: Did the babies die in utero and the labor follows? Even though it was a monochorionic monoamniotic pregnancy (same sac, one placenta), miscarriage of a viable pregnancy is uncommon. This type of pregnancy is at increase risk for intrauterine fetal death not miscarriage at 18 weeks. Usually, Steroids are administered early for fetal lung maturity and delivery by C-section at about 32 weeks. ...Read more

At 30 weeks baby is measuring 2 weeks behind in belly, femur, and head ! Is my due date wrong or am I just having a small baby ?

Detailed evaluation: It would be inappropriate for us to answer this without more detail. Schedule a follow up visit with the doctor providing your prenatal care. They can go through the ultrasound findings in detail with you to design a care plan that is right for you. They can also suggest a maternal fetal medicine consultation if that is indicated. ...Read more
