Probably gallstones: The gallstones block the normal flow of bile out of your GB. The liver makes the bile and the GB stores it. When you eat a meal, esp fatty or spicy, the GB squeezes to empty the bile into the intestines to help digest the food. There are many reasons a person can have pain in the abdomen; the gallbladder is just one of them. Sludge is rarely if ever a cause of pain, and a 40% ejection fraction on hida is pretty normal.

Good thought: It could be related but usually complications are pretty soon after surgery, not years. It could be a hernia from one of the incisions as well. Pain: It would be a good idea to repeat your bloodwork including a CBC with diff, CMP, lipase, urinalysis with culture. Consider a CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis as well. See a doctor.
