Could use your help docs! My gallbladder hurts after I eat spicy stuff, why?

Could use your help docs! My gallbladder hurts after I eat spicy stuff, why?

Probably gallstones: The gallstones block the normal flow of bile out of your GB. The liver makes the bile and the GB stores it. When you eat a meal, esp fatty or spicy, the GB squeezes to empty the bile into the intestines to help digest the food. When a stone blocks the bile from emptying, it causes pain, typically after eating a meal. See your doctor to confirm and discuss treatment options. Good luck! ...Read more

My low ribs and left side under ribs hurts had gallbladder out three weeks ago?

My low ribs and left side under ribs hurts had gallbladder out three weeks ago?

Very normal: When surgeons remove the gallbladder through little incisions (laparoscopy), the muscles of the abdomen are greatly stretched from gas inside the belly that lets us see and manipulate the gallbladder and other organs. These muscles are directly attached to the rib cage, especially the lower ribs. This can lead to soreness, especially as you become more active. It will go away. Good luck! ...Read more

Why does my side hurt after I eat fatty foods even though I got my gallbladder removed almost 4 years ago?

Fatty foods: .Interestingly, as you have been missing the normal bonus release of bile that is ejected from a normally functioning gallbladder after a meal, your ability to digest fatty foods is now worse than when you had your gallbladder. So, eating fatty foods will result in bloating, discomfort and malabsorption. In this context, a low-fat diet is advised. ...Read more

They found sludge in my gallbladder and at times it hurts really bad but sometimes it doesn't. Hida was 40% but im 18 and a male. Should I worry?

Uncertain cause: There are many reasons a person can have pain in the abdomen; the gallbladder is just one of them. Sludge is rarely if ever a cause of pain, and a 40% ejection fraction on hida is pretty normal.
I would look elsewhere for causes of pain before considering removing the gallbladder. ...Read more

Not sure if related but had gallbladder out 2 years ago and getting pain in liver area. Feeling of fullness near liver. Hurts when bend to the side?

Good thought: It could be related but usually complications are pretty soon after surgery, not years. It could be a hernia from one of the incisions as well. Having someone look at it and possibly an ultrasound of the liver area might be a good start. This far out, however, it is more likely to be unrelated. ...Read more

Had a ultrasound for my gallbladder, No stones, not inflamed. It hurts when I move a certain way, and if I eat greasy food. What could it be? What can I do

Pain: It would be a good idea to repeat your bloodwork including a CBC with diff, CMP, lipase, urinalysis with culture. Consider a CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis as well. See a doctor. There is always a reason why there is pain, even when tests are normal. See another doctor in person if your current doctor can't give you answers. ...Read more

Pain breathing just had gallbladder removed Friday. Hurts to breathe heavy. Hurts on right side also?

Would still get this checked by your MD or in an ER as it could also be a serious problem related to development of blood clots, or it could be a pneumonia. Seek medical attention! ...Read more
