Is CT scan necessary for dental implant or bridge? Please advise!

Can be: The use of a CT scan is helpful in many cases and situations, but not yet required as "customary" of yet mandated as "standard of care". CT Dental Scan showed I had enough bone 17 mm for #12,#13 Implant. Do you still need to add bone crafting because of the bone curvature in that area?

The short Answer, NO: You have been doing your home work, and while the height and width of the bone can be clearly seen, its density can only be guessed at by a comparative assessment. The experienced surgeon is able to make a pretty good guess, but every now and then they do have surprises. ...Read more

Can I wait to get a dental implant or will teeth move if bruxism?

Can I wait to get a dental implant or will teeth move if bruxism?

Implants: If you have a bruxing problem great care must be taken that the pressure on the implant is balanced properly when you bite down. A night guard may need to be fabricated to protect the teeth if this bruxing habit can't be broken. Being aware of this habit is half the battle. When do you brux your teeth? Do you drink much coffee/caffeine .Do you have a exercise program to reduce stress? Discuss this. ...Read more

Was wondering if i need teeth removed, can I just get implants to replace?

Was wondering if i need teeth removed, can I just get implants to replace?

Most likely: But to place dental implants, you need adequate bone support. If the teeth are lost due to periodontitis, the bone volume may not be adequate.. Each mouth is different. Add in bone grafting with the implants plus the fixed prosthesis and the costs rise significantly. Always cheaper to keep your own teeth healthy.. ...Read more
