When you have a UTI is your vagina supposed to b sore?

When you have a UTI is your vagina supposed to b sore?

Troublesome issue: In my location, such a statement by a 5 yr old would lead to a forensic (evidence style) interview by a specialist in child sexual exploitation and a thorough investigation of the family.Kids rarely make up stories about something so specific, although the kid may view rough washing of her genitals in this way. Most dads avoid any contact with this area in a 5 yo. ...Read more

UTI is an infection: of the bladder, not the vagina. A clear UTI doesn't mean you don't have a vaginal infection. If you're too sore to tolerate a pelvic exam with a speculum, tests for vaginitis can be done using a Q-tip to collect a specimen. If you have a vaginal infection, it can be treated. Once the swelling has resolved, a thorough pelvic exam can then be done. Best wishes! Dr. Anne. ...Read more

Without : Without testing your urine, it's hard to know whether you are pregnant, have a urinary tract infection, have another infection or illness, or have a combination of the above. With your symptoms, you should definitely give your doctor a call. They will be able to examine you, test your urine for infection, and possibly test for pregnancy. It still may be too early for a home pregnancy test to be accurate - it is only 97% accurate 5-6 weeks after your last normal period. Good luck! ...Read more
