I have a medium: It could be a cyst which is filled with fluid and can happen after an injury or almost jello type tissue if you have had it for a while or a lipoma, that consists of fatty tissue , both cause no problems. Mysterious lump: A lump in that area could be several things. The most likely thing is an enlarged lymph node. Lymph nodes can be enlarged for a number of reasons spanning from a simple infection to cancer. Another possibility is a hernia. New lump? Get seen!: It is hard to say what this could be by the limited description possible in the short questions allowed here. However, any mass that is new and does not go away in 4-6 weeks, needs to be evaluated to make sure it is nothing serious. Go to hospital now: Your boyfriend needs to be examined by his family doc (gp in gb) to determine what's going on. The lump could be a swollen lymph node, abscess (pus pocket), or even an inguinal hernia.
