I've only taken the Depo-Provera birth control shot once. Will my period start back up immediately after the 3 months?

Maybe: Hi lamayaU238. What a fissionable name! Anyway Depoprovera works by inhibiting the usual hormonal cycle involving FSH/LH, and works for a variable time up to and past 3 months. Exactly when you might resume your natural cycle is unpredictable. The shot is scheduled at regular intervals calculated to be less than the usual recovery time. good luck. ...Read more

It should: Decrease after it has worn off but not while it is still in effect if you are having this problem. Weight gain is a problem for some women on the depot shot. Sorry you had this side effect. ...Read more

I bleed the whole 3 months the first time i took my Depo-Provera shot. Will i stop after my next shedualed shot?

It's hard: To say when the bleeding will stop but most people have stopped by about 9 months. You could add low dose Estradiol tablet, .5 mg at night, may help you to reach your full bone strength as well. When should I start new birth control pack after taking Plan B (at end of last pack) and it delayed my period? After period or when i normally would?

Missed OCP: My question would be why did you take Plan B if you were on the pills as this should have protected you from getting pregnant. If you didn't miss any pills with the original pack of pills, i would restart the pills at the same time you would in the past. If you had missed some pills and took Plan B as a back up contraception, then you should wait and use back up protection with this cycle. ...Read more

I inserted nuvaring for the first time on the last day of my cycle. When will i be fully protected?

One cycle: Scientifically speaking, you are covered, but, most docs will recommend waiting until you start your next cycle to have unprotected intercourse. Remember tho, NuvaRing does not stop stds. Also, there is a 1-2 percent failure rate when used perfectly. If one hundred girls started NuvaRing today, 2 will still get pregnant. Use condoms always as wel, l for pregnancy and std prevention. ...Read more

When I am starting a new pack of birth control pills after ending my current pack. Will it be okay to take it a couple hours after my regular time?

When I am starting a new pack of birth control pills after ending my current pack. Will it be okay to take it a couple hours after my regular time?

Timing is everything: The first few pills of your new pack are the most important. Try to take them on time. If you want to reset your regular time, start with the first pill in the pack and stick to it. If you're moving the time up, start on schedule. If you're pushing the time back, you should start your new pack a day early (skip a placebo pill from your last pack). This ensures you don't ovulate. ...Read more
