Can't use birth control nor the Depo-Provera shot cause i bleed a lot and my bf refuse to wear a condom. Is their a way to prevent pregnancy? Don't want kids
Yes but: Please alternative methods of birth control including the Ortho Evra patch, low dose estrogen pills, low dose progestin-only pill, intrauterine device or the nuva ring that may better suit your body and/or lifestyle. The withdrawal method or the calendar method will not prevent pregnancy although it may decrease your chances of becoming pregnant. ...Read more
Shedding lining: If you are taking depo provera, the constant Progesterone makes the lining of your uterus shed. Unfortunately, it does it a little at a time, making you have irregular bleeding that may be pretty long. If you feel dizzy or tired or the bleeding is heavy, see your doctor. If it is spotting, give it a week and then see your doctor. Irregular bleeding can happen for up to 3-6 months. ...Read more
I started a new birth control, it's the shot, I get a shot every 3 months, ever since I started the shot, I still bleed even after my period.
What could this be? I have been bleeding, not heavy just spotting on a pad and when i wipe, it has been brown to black for over a month. The only time it turns a bright red color is after sex. I have no pain with it. I have been on the birth control shot
First : First of all, make sure that your bleeding is coming from your vagina and not your urethra or rectum. If you insert a tampon and there is blood on it, then you know the bleeding is coming from wither your uterus, cervix or vagina. If you are pre-menopausal, there are many causes for vaginal bleeding not related to your period such as: - iud or Depo Provera use - stopping or starting birth control pills containing estrogen - stress - hormone problems such as with the thyroid - injury/trauma of the vagina from intercourse or a sexually transmitted disease (the bright red you see after having sex might just be from friction of the penis against the cervix) - uterine fibroids or polyps - cervical injury, infection or rarely, cancer - pregnancy - highly unlikely since you are on depo and breastfeeding the best way to sort out what could be happening is to call your doctor. If you are bleeding heavily, call immediately, otherwise you can call during office hours. A careful exam can help show whether your spotting is anything to worry about. Good luck! ...Read more
I am not on birth control but have had regular periods after being on the Depo-Provera shot 2 years. This month I got mine 10 days early. What could this be?
I've only taken the Depo-Provera birth control shot once. Will my period start back up immediately after the 3 months?
Maybe: Hi lamayaU238. What a fissionable name! Anyway Depoprovera works by inhibiting the usual hormonal cycle involving FSH/LH, and works for a variable time up to and past 3 months. Exactly when you might resume your natural cycle is unpredictable. The shot is scheduled at regular intervals calculated to be less than the usual recovery time. good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Two monthes after giving birth spotting blood and brown dicharge..Enough ti fill panty liner....Oh had Depo-Provera shot before i left hospital(birth control)?
Common side effect: Depo provera--"the shot" is commonly associated with irregular bleeding, especially in the first 3-6 months. At the end of one year, approximately 50% of women are no longer having any bleeding, which most women consider to be a very good thing. You should document the days of bleeding on a calendar, but don't worry about it. Unscheduled bleeding is common. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
