When To Worry About Swollen Lymph Nodes
I'm 22 with 2 swollen lymph nodes on 1 side of my neck for 7 months. They are painless, soft, kinda movable, small, & have not grown. Should I worry?
Lymph nodes: Probably not. Probably they are reactive lymph nodes- either from chronic inflammation on the throat or something in your mouth like gum inflammation or tooth problems etc. Since they have been there for 7 months- next time you see your doctor bring this up so your md can examine them. If you're worried or if they grow, absolutely you should see your md sooner to evaluate more.
Have swollen lymph nodes in neck got a sonography done today and the doctoe said it is nothing to worry. They r 1.5×.90 cms in size. Is it ok.
Lymphadenopathy: Without having all your medical records and the ability to examine you and review your imaging studies it is impossible to say, but it sounds on the surface as if you should be trusting your doctor's opinion. Good luck.
Swollen lymph nodes, one on either side of neck. Both small, between. 5cm-1cm? Should I worry? Is the symmetry a good sign? How long should I wait?
String like cord under my armpit after having swollen Lymph nodes or boil. What is the problem? Should I worry?
Probable vein: Once swollen lymph nodes are noted in axilla, they are in close proximity to the main axillary artery and vein in that region. The nodes are associated with a secondary inflammatory process that has probably produced a thrombosis in side veins adjacent to the main vein draining the arm thru axilla into subclavian vein. Best approach if no temp present Is to use warm compresses over the area.
Today I noticed I have several swollen lymph nodes around my neck. Shud I be worry? Also I feel tired and weak. I have been stressed lately frm work
Stress/lymph nodes?: Stress did not cause the lymphnodes, but can cause poor sleep and thus tiredness etc... Small nodes around your neck, if the come and go etc. Then not likely to be serious--often viral illnesses do that. If they are persistent and enlarging in sizes, consult with your doc. In the meantime, stress relief, eat well, sleep well will make you feel better. Good luck.
2 swollen lymph nodes below ear and a few other places and no other symptoms at all. Something to worry about? We are waiting for the blood results.
Catscratch disease?: Single or few, large, mildly painful lymphnode (s) is the most common presentation after the initial several small papules (zit-like) at the site-of-infection/innoculation, usually 1-3 wks later. Most of the cases resolve on their own without treatment in 2-12 month, but some have fever/fatigue, headache, anorexia, joint pain, and other rare/severe symptoms. Consult to make sure this is catscratch.
On off fever for 3 weeks. I got a cbc without differential & physical exam for swollen lymph nodes etc. Both normal. Do I need to worry about leukemia?
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
I have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck and left side of face for 5 years. Left side of neck and face is swollen. Dr says don't worry. What do I do?
Follow-up: Chronically swollen lymph nodes in the head and neck area are generally not due to a malignancy such as lymphoma or head and neck cancer. Chronic infection in the head and neck area could be a cause and there may be some lymphatic blockage causing the swelling. It would not be unreasonable to scan the area and possibly biopsy an accessible node.
2 swollen lymph nodes behind ear. Extremely tired, itchy little bumps and a line of bruises? Anything to worry about?
Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells/digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph everywhere for bad stuff like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.See 1 more doctor answer
Wind pipe, u mean?: Enlarged nodes in the chest can be the result of many things, some more serious than others. Rather than speculating and giving you a mile long list, I would suggest you talk to the doc who ordered the scan and ask him/her about the implications of the scan and what to do next. Best to you.

Sure: Depends on the cause. Swollen nodes caused by infection or inflammation would be expected to go back to normal whereas those caused by cancer normally keep on growing (there are exceptions even to this, though). Moral of the story: unexplained enlargement of nodes should be evaluated by your doc. Best to you.
It depends on their: Size. In general, they are bean shaped and feel firm but not hard. They may be tender to the touch. Lymph nodes that are cancerous tend to be fixed in one place, while "benign" nodes wiggle somewhat under the skin. Nodes that pop up over a short period of time are usually caused by nearby infection. Strep throat, for example can cause noticeable swell of nodes in the neck. Dr. anne
