When To Worry About A Cough In Adults
Anything to do for a 3-1/2-year-old child who can not stop coughing (only 2-second pauses in between)? It is a wet cough accompanied with a fever.
The cough reflex is a protective mechanism that uses muscles in your throat and chest to expel mucous and saliva that may contain pathogens that would otherwise possibly be inhaled via aerosol or to expel pathogens infecting the throat and respiratory system. Cough benefits the host by reducing load and benefits the pathogen which may then spread via aerosol. ...Read more

Have a slight cough for quite som time. Wouldn't worry except i keep getting a bad test in my mouth after non-prod cough. This usually happens with colds or bronchitis, which i don't have. Any idea?
Possible reflux: One possibility is atypical or "silent" reflux. I know this may sound strange but if stomach juice comes up it can reach the voice box region leading to cough. If even a little stomach juice reaches the mouth it can be very bitter or lead to a bad taste. Stop drinking acids. No sodas, coffee, tea. Stay away from tomatoes and sauce. Don't eat or drink for 3 hours before bed. See your md. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I recently asked a question about when a person swallows a roach during sleep what could happen when should we worry signs to watch for.
Digested like oyster: The stomach contains very powerful acid which can melt nails..Yes, the metal nails. Thus, the roach will be killed by the stomach acid and digested like other foods. Men and women of nature consume insects all the time--when they run out of food in the wild/woods. Insects are good source of proteins--although the roach is not very appetizing, it won't harm you swallowing one... Good luck. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
