Difficult to say: It is necessary to know what one is treating to answer such a question. If a disc has protruded or extruded touching a nerve, options are limited to surgery. My pain management doctor is putting me on won't work. Won't go back till next week, what should I do in the mean time?

Unsure about: What type of pain you have. If you have back pain however, and nothing is unstable, then i would recommend to not lie in bed through out the day. Make sure you stay lightly active unless you have specific instructions not to. Back pain is normally made worse with laying in bed and not moving throughout the day. I hope this helps. ...Read more
