When To Give First Dose
Yes: A medical abortion or an induced miscarriage can occur with either the use of mifepristone or misoprostol however both have unacceptably high failure rates on their own. They should be used together either simultaneously if miso given vaginally or 24h apart if miso given bucchally. It is effective up to 10wks but never 100% effective. That's why GYN/MD follow up is critical. Do not try on your own ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Which Medication?: If your child cannot keep anything down, it may be a waste of time to administer any oral medication. However, the first question is what medication are you trying to administer? Is it necessary? If your child cannot keep down any fluids, you may need to take a trip to the E.R. To make sure he/she gets IV fluids. Children, especially younger/smaller children can become dehydrated very quickly. ...Read more

10 days before my period would you say its too early to take a pregnancy test? If so when is the best time to take one?
Later: hormones go up with increasing pregnancy. The lower the level, the more likelihood the test will be negative EVEN IF YOU ARE PREGNANT. nobody building these tests expects someone to run it before their period is late, and so it is not validated, not expected to work before the period is actually late. Wait at least 28 days past last period, or run it earlier, but believe a NEGATIVE ...Read more
Related to a question I asked earlier about when to take zoloft (sertraline). Do the side effects go away after the body gets used to the dosage and time change.
What symptoms?: I usually tell patients to start 25 mgs with food at dinner. This accomplishes several things. It usually diminishes the effect of sedation, nausea and fatigue that can often occur when you start an ssri. Increase the dose every 5 to 7 days by 25 mgs. Until i see a therapeutic effect. At 100 mgs. I wait another two to four weeks so that treatment "catches up" to onside effects. Talk to yourdoc! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Not getting the ansr to my? It takes months to get up to dose of lamitical to avoid rash. How many days can I miss before I have to start over again?
Take it regularly: Of course, you shouldn't miss any doses of your medication because the condition you're taking it for can worsen. However, if you missed taking Lamictal for even 2-3 weeks, you'd probably be ok. The greatest risk for stevens-johnson seems to be when you first start the medication and then increase too quickly. But try to always take it as prescribed. Good luck! ...Read more
Doesn't matter...: It doesn't matter what time of day one takes a pregnancy test, unless one is testing too soon. If one is patient and waits until a few days after missing a period, the HCG level should be high enough to cause a positive test at any hour. If testing too soon, a more concentrated urine sample (such as upon waking up) might be positive, while a more dilute sample later in the day might be negative. ...Read more
Is it better to use first morning urine for opks? I've heard that it can give a false +. When is the best time to use opks if i wake up 6am daily?
Nope!: Do not use first morning samples as lh is synthesized in your body early in the morning. It will not show up in urine until later in the day. The best time to test urine is between 11am and 8pm. Be sure to test at the same time each day. Also, reduce your liquid intake (and try not to urinate) around 2 to 3 hours before testing as a diluted liquid sample can hinder lh detection. ...Read more

Not too much: 500 mg of B12 is fine. But beware that B12 can compete with folate (folic acid) for absorption, so take some folate (folic acid) too. Metafolin is good. D3 1000 iu is not too much. Some people need more. Check bloodwork 25 oh d to know your level.. 50-60 is a good number and below 40 is on the low side. ...Read more
