When Is It Safe To Travel With A New Baby
Is it safe to give an 8 month old baby Infant Tylenol every day during teething to help with teething pain & discomfort? Baby's weight is 18 lbs.
Depends on situation: During a stint in the military, i routeinly discharged newborns that traveled to the airport for a flight back to the us for their first month or two before returning to japan. They traveled better than most toddlers or older kids.Considerations such as infectious exposure in transit, risk at the destination & availability of health care factor in. I am 36 and 4 day And I am on baby #5 and 2 1/2 cm is it safe to travel and the baby' is already estimated to be 2 weeks bigger?
Maybe: were you term on your previous deliveries? Was labor short or long? You should NOT fly, but driving may be an option. The greatest risk is going into labor en route and either not having a hospital close by, or ending up at a hospital where none of your prenatal care was done. I would say you are ok for short trips of two hours or less, but plan ahead. Know what you will do if labor begins. ...Read more
Depends: Ideally one would wait at least until after the first set of vaccinations at two months. After that, some places are more "medically dangerous" than others. Many countries require yellow fever vaccination after one year of age, and malaria prophylaxis is a big consideration. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Is it safe or advisable for my HIV positive nanny to continue caring for my new born and 18 month old babies?
Yes: I am going to assume that she is having her illness managed. Even if she is not, during the bad old days in which there was no treatment, household contacts (family members, caregivers) simply did not become infected. The virus is basically impossible to transmit in the home except through honest-to-goodness sex or needle-sharing. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is it safe to give feeder bottle to a new born baby? Her mother has gone through an operation. Is it true feeder bottle can affect baby's lungs?
It's fine!: While breast feeding is best, if something has happened with mom and she can't breast feed, or chooses not to, it is perfectly fine to give breast milk or formula through a bottle. There are many types of bottles now, many that more closely mimic how a breast feeds and feels in the baby's mouth. If mom plans to go back to breast at some point, would recommend this type of bottle. Otherwise any ok. ...Read more
