When I Touch My Nipple I Feel Something Hard And Round Is It Likely To Be Cancer
It's possible.: While I would like to be more helpful, it's simply too difficult to draw too many conclusions from your question. Any new breast lump should be evaluated by a physician, sometimes requiring other tests such as a mammogram, ultrasound, and/or a biopsy, before reaching a definitive diagnosis. I urge you to make an appointment with your primary care physician or gynecologist. ...Read more

Biopsy may be needed: Your doctor needs to examine you. Usually a small breast cancer isn't painful or tender. It may just be an infection. But your doctor needs to examine you and determine whether a biopsy is necessary. ...Read more

Under my nipple my breast is sore to the touch and I mean hard to wear bra or anything. I have had a hyst. In 2008 so I know it could it be a sign of cancer my aunt had breast cancer and my mom cervical cancer
Hello.: Hello. First off, I want to let you know that I cannot tell you the reason for your nipple soreness. A common reason for nipple pain is skin abrasion from friction. This can be due to a bra that doesn’t fit well or physical activity with a bra that is not adequately supportive or physical activity (like bouncing) without a bra. It doesn't really sound like this, since you were specific that the pain is deep to the nipple if this were the cause it should clear up within a couple of days. Other causes can be an abscess, infection of the duct, inflammation of the duct or possibly cancer. If you have redness, heat, swelling, a lump, bloody nipple discharge, fever or chills or the skin is cracking, then you should contact your doctor now. Take care. ...Read more

Your lump should be evaluated with a combination of physical exam, mammography and ultrasound as necessary. Please follow up with your PCP. ...Read more
Baby has 1 hard lump behind left nipple. Left nipple is inverted. Just noticed 2 weeks ago. Lump might be getting bigger. Almost 4 months. Cancer?
No: Breast cancer does not occur in young children. Rather the breast has not developed at a young age and behind the nipple the precursor tissue or breast bud is noted. In some it is larger than others but still is the source from which the breast grows. To many cases or biopsy not realizing the significance of the lump has removed all potential for breast development in the future. ...Read more
No: Breast tissue is susceptible to injury as any tissue in the body is if there is sufficient trauma. This can manifest with similar symptoms to breast cancer on occasion (lumps, pain, bruising, etc). However, pressing on the breast and nipple-sucking (even if traumatic) does not cause breast cancer. ...Read more
Had clean mammo 5 months ago. Clean. For abt ten days I have had intermittent nipple pain. No discharge or redness or scaling. How likely is this cancer?
Only left nipple stings when lightly touched, for 3 days now. Not preg. No injury. Not from running. Nerves or cancer? Any idea?
Unsure: Is the stinging associated with any skin. Changes in the nipple? The stinging may be the result of hormonal changes, depending on where you are in your cycle. If there are changes in the skin of the nipple, like a scaly red rash, it's likely benign, but I would have skin changes evaluated by MD. Paget's disease of the nipple appears as a rash to the nipple and is associated with breast cancer. ...Read more

My father is 72 he has COPD and is being referred for a chest X-ray for sinister lesions is this likely to be cancer?
Low likelihood: If he has COPD due in part to smoking history, then the risk of lung cancer is higher than in non-smokers. That said, most lesions seen on chest x-ray do not turn out to be cancer. If a lesion was noted on a prior chest x-ray, then it probably did not have features exhibited by typical tumors, thus the wait-and-see approach. This x-ray will be compared to evaluate for growth/changes ...Read more
Chest cta notes 3mm and 5mm ground glass nodules. Dr didn't seem worried. I read these are more likely to be cancer. What should I do?
Follow up checks:
Lung nodules on CT cans are common; most of these nodules are benign unless you are a heavy smoker.
The best way to resolve the question of them being benign or cancerous is to obtain a follow up CT scan in 6 months. If they remain unchanged they are considered benign. You may have to change your doctor if the first one is not willing to do a follow up with a CT scan of your chest. ...Read more

Not likely: But if you want to make sure, you should go see a doctor. More importantly, you may want to stop smoking.
