Yes: Some people get headaches from smoke residue. Not as likely from the smell of alcohol. To determine if you are sensitive to smoke residue, ask your husband to smoke outside the house and shower before bed. Is your husband's drinking a problem in other ways? Would he stop if you asked? Difficult question: Most such trauma would not have resulted in severe brain damage. However one can never tell if a subdural hematoma may not develop.
