Burping: Since you stop ingesting food after 5pm your stomach should be empty by 7pm or so. Muscle movement: You have a muscle called the levator palatini that straightens the tube between the middle ear and your throat. When you burp it triggers that muscle to stretch & it can change the pressure across your ear drum. It would do so more often if the tube is partially blocked & and air moves through it. When it begins to bother you enough, have your ears examined. It may clear or become an ear infection ...Read more

Hi burped then felt ache couple inches above right ear? Curious to know why it aches. My ear has been stuffy all day but assumed it's unrelated?
Burps and ear pain: The eustachian tubes connect the middle ear spaces to the back of the throat and allow us to equalize the air pressure in our ears. The tubes open when we swallow or yawn or if you do a valsalva maneuver (hold your nose and try to blow it - you'll feel your ears pop). My guess is that you opened your eustachian tube when you burped but the congestion prevented full pressure equalization. ...Read more
Eustachian tube: There is a tube that connects your oral/nasal cavity to your ear. This is how scuba divers clear their ears, and how people flying in airplanes do the same. Everytime I burp I hear a crackling sound in my right ear and its been like this for abou 2 weeks already what can it be?
Eustachian tube: This could be eustachian tube dysfunction. The eustachian tube connects the inner ear to the through and provider pressure equalization on both side of the ear drum. It can get "clogged off" for several reasons such as a cold or allergies. Many times it will resolve on its own. A common treatment for allergies such as zyrtec or claritin (loratadine) may help as well. If it persists, you should see a physician. ...Read more

Ear pain: pregnancy?: When pregnant, mucus surfaces in your auditory canals become swollen, and this mimics ear infection type symptoms. Sinus obstructions are also more common in pregnancy. Left ear hurts when swallowing or burping after itry to clean my left ear. And I can hear my heartbeat. Any fix?
Ear wax impaction:
You have likely pushed ear wax deep into the ear canal and up against the eardrum. When you swallow or burp and create a pressure gradient through the middle ear cavity, the eardrum typically moves to accommodate the change, unless something is preventing it from effectively doing so.
Best fix? See your primary doc to check what is going on in your ear. Please no more using q-tips to "clean" ears. ...Read more

I have a little pain or pressure in my left ear. Hurts when I burp & when I yawn and its been about 6 hours now. I have no voice & im pretty congested?
Eustachian tube: Probably due to Eustachian tube congestion; this tube connects the inner ear with the back of the nose and throat. If you have no voice, the cause is much more likely to be viral (ie you don't need antibiotics). Use Afrin nasal spray over the counter in the left nostril for no more than 3 days to clear up your ear Push clears. Don't take an antihistamine (thickens mucus as side effect). ...Read more

I was having sinus problems earlier today. My ear started hurting and now it hurts a lot especially when I yawn burp or hiccup or studf like that?
Ear ache: If there is congestion in the back of the nasal passages the eustachian tube leading to the ear gets blocked and this builds up pressure in the middle ear causing pain. Treatment consists of nasal irrigation and decongestant sprays to unblock that tube. An actual middle ear infection is another cause of earache and an examination of the ear would be required for diagnosis. ...Read more
