What would cause water in toilet after bowel movement to be oily? Stool isn't floating, but water looked oily. No other symptoms.

Possibly in the food: There are fat substitutes that are poorly or not absorbed and thus pass thru the digestive system and can be present in the stool. A good example is Olestra, which has the same taste and mouthfeel as fat, but it passes through the gastrointestinal tract undigested without contributing calories or nutritive value to the diet. More popular in snacks such as potato chips, it can be found elsewhere ...Read more

I am having bright red blood in the toilet after a bowel movement. Do I need to go to the e r? I feel like I am going but when done there's nothing but bright red blood in the water and after wiping

Yes.: Yes. You need to see a doctor for this right away. It may be something as simple as hemorrhoids, but it could also be much more serious.

Bleeding like you've described could represent infection, inflammation, a vascular malformation, or a tumor. Though it often stops on its own, bleeding from the bowel can sometimes become very severe and can even be life threatening. If it does stop, that does not mean that the underlying problem is gone, so you should see a doctor even if this goes away by itself. ...Read more

This is: A bit "unusual" and "excessive" for what is a usual dose of the bisacodyl tablets but it is meant to "clean out" your bowel and prepare it for examination. I am assuming that's why you took this rather POWERFUL laxative! I am not sure of what your question is!

Let dr know asap: You have intestinal bleeding. Continue to see the GI dr, as you need to have the source identified asap. If you have any weakness, tiredness or signs you are getting anemic from blood loss, than go to nearest ER. I EAT 5 MEALS PER DAY, I TAKE PLENTY WATER BUT I USUALLY HAVE 1 BOWEL MOVEMENT DAILY. SOMETIMES I DON'T GO AT ALL THROUGHT A DAY. IS THAT REGULAR?

Yes: It is not necessary to have a bowel movement each day. In fact, some normal people only go once every three or four days, which is perfectly acceptable if that is their normal bowel pattern. As long as you are not having pain or other symptoms along with it, then I would not be concerned by your bowel movement frequency. Eat a lot of fiber. Good luck. ...Read more
