When Does Remicade Stop Working For Ra
Can norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) stop working after a year? I take it for ra/ severe back pain/sciatica but my dr wont change it i wake up stiff and in tons of pain
Yes: Everyone becomes tolerant to opiate pain medications if used chronically. We worry about this all the time, however ask your doctor to switch your medicine to another medication to see if this works. If not, ask for a pain management referral. However you should be aware that this will happen again no matter what opiate you use. Sometimes having a pain medication holiday can be helpful. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

See below: Since this has been going for 4 weeks, it less likely to be infusion reaction. Humira losing its effectiveness with RA. Unable to tolerate MTX or Plaquenil. Any Rheumotologists think Remicade (infliximab) would be a good option?
Can't hurt to try: I'm a family doctor, not a rheumatologist, but I do have RA patients who are on Remicaid who are responding very well with it. I don't know what that's worth to you, but I thought I would share. I think it's being used a lot more and does have FDA indication for RA. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
When is it time to start Humira or Remicade (infliximab) for RA. Been on MTX & plaquinil for 14 yrs, pred on & off. Labs slightly off, but pain & swelling intense.
Last labs showed high iron saturation at 55%, normal total iron, and normal iron binding capacity. Low wbc. Should I be concerned about these? Currently on plaquenil, sulfasalazine, and Remicade (infliximab) infusions for Lupus/RA.
How low?: It depends on how low the WBC is and whether this has been a persistent findings. You will need to find out the cause for the low WBC which may be the result of a drug reaction or just part of the Lupus/RA. The major risk is increased susceptibility to infections when the WBC is very low. Talk to your rheumatologist. ...Read more

I have RA but my whole body hurts, I'm in constant pain. Sometimes I can hardly stand up and walk, I get infusions ( remicaide ) what else could it be?
It does not sound : Like typical RA pain. Needs more info, such as pain locations, joint vs muscle involvement, or pain after remicade, (infliximab) etc. there are many detail needed and likely will need a video consult to get better idea or discuss with your rheumatologist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
