Does conception and ovulation typically happen the same day?

Does conception and ovulation typically happen the same day?

Fertilization: The sperm will fertilize the egg within 12 - 48 hours after ovulation. However, after fertilization, it takes the embryo 2-3 days to travel down the fallopian tube into the uterus where it will implant, technically, you would have conceived by this point but won't know until the pregnancy implants and stas to develop. 4-7 days after implantation is when you will have a positive blood/urine test. ...Read more

Ovulation: Every female has a different and set ovulation. This simple app cannot teach you how to know your ovulation but there is a lot on the web. I have had a positive LH surge from ovulation tests for 5 days. Is this normal? If not, what could the reason be? Cycle are typically 50 days.

I have had a positive LH surge from ovulation tests for 5 days. Is this normal? If not, what could the reason be? Cycle are typically 50 days.

OPK: The accuracy of opk varies - sadly, the opk are more reliable the more regular your cycles are normal, meaning the women who need them most will get the least use out of them. 5 days of "lh surge" is not physiologic, so it's either a bad test or you have a very unusual ovulation. ...Read more

1st LH surge day 15, negative for LH day 16. Does that mean i'm ovulating on day 16? I typically get two days of LH but this time only one? Fertility?

1st LH surge day 15, negative for LH day 16. Does that mean i'm ovulating on day 16? I typically get two days of LH but this time only one? Fertility?

Day 16 or 17: The lh surge goes up and down over about 24 hours. When you get two days of positive lh tests you are probably catching lh rising the first day and going down on the next day. It can be 24 to 36 hours from detecting the lh surge to ovulating, so you could ovulate on day 16 or up to day 17. Hope this helps. As you are doing iui, ultrasound monitoring of your cycle can help with timing IUI as well. ...Read more

Unclear: Your question was truncated. My apologies if I my answer is not helpful. If your cycles are reliably 29 days, you should ovulate on day 15 and not 16. If you had sex only on day 17, used a condom and did not get an ejaculate, your chance of pregnancy is slim to none. ...Read more

Typically, is 7 days before expected period and 7 days after period a part of ovulation/fertile window or is it too early/late? Cycle is 28 days

Typically, is 7 days before expected period and 7 days after period a part of ovulation/fertile window or is it too early/late? Cycle is 28 days

A little Far away: You ovulate 14 days before your period, so if you have regular 28 day cycle...you would ovulate mid cycle, so the best time to have unprotected sex for pregnancy (your fertile window) is mid cycle and up to and around a few days before and after. Good luck. ...Read more
