How long does it take a herpes blisters to rupture? Can a vaginal bump/pimple in my labia Minora have a shallow opening?
Probably not herpes: On moist surfaces like the labia minor, herpes lesions typically break within a few hours; often the blister itself is never seen, just an open sore. On dry surfaces, like the labia major, the blisters may remain intact for a few days. From this information it isn't possible to know whether your bump/pimples is herpes. But a single lesion in a hair-bearing area usually is just a pimple. ...Read more

If a person with herpes type 1 only on genitals has breakouts can they still pass herpes to somebody through kissing?
Some thoughts...: Herpes 1 can pass from one's genitals to a susceptible person (a person who has not had Herpes 1). Sometimes a person is contagious in between outbreaks on her genitals. That means a susceptible person kissing a carrier's genitals may be able to catch herpes even in between the carrier's outbreaks. If the carrier never has oral Herpes 1, then mouth to mouth kissing is safer. Life is not 100% safe. ...Read more

How likely is it for a woman with herpes type 1 on her genitals, to pass it when not having a breakout?
Problems with HSV-1: The cold sore virus, HSV-1, is similar to the genital herpes virus HSV-2. Unfortunately, if someone has an HSV-1 lesion that's active (red and crusty like a 'volcano') then it could be infectious to others who are non-immune. The HSV-1 virus prefers to go to the mouth area, but there are cases when it can spread to the genitals or other sites if the exposure is significant. Call doc for antiviral. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
How long does HSV (1) survive on a finger. For example One touches an oral blister that has not yet opened then accidentally touched another area .
It doesn't matter...: ...how long the virus can survive. In HSV infection present for more than a few months, autoinoculation (self transmission to a new part of the body) almost never occurs, except rarely to an eye. The immune system prevents it. Use common sense hygiene (hand washing, alchohol gel) but no need to be compulsive about it or worry about transmitting oral herpes to, say, the genital area. ...Read more
