The most common cause is actually the effect of chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure and atherosclerosis. Normally?: I wouldn't consider it "normal" to suffer erectile dysfunction although it does occur more commonly in 40-50yo ; up. However, causes of ed in this age group are different from that in 20s. In younger men, ed is more likely due to performance anxiety ; possibly illicit drug use.
