If there is a significant wound, a booster is recommended if it has been 5 or more years since the last one. Up until six years ago, there wasn't a pertussis containing vaccine in the usa recommended for adults. The cdc recommends that all adults through age 64 get a single pertussis containing vaccine (tdap) (includes tetanus and diphtheria). Depends/very much so: In the US the schedule starts the MMR series at a year with a booster at 4-5 yrs. In a local epidemic or when traveling in a worrisome area it can be given 1st at 6 mo but the dose wouldn't count other than to provide temporary protection.
