Perhaps but: Symbicort is meant to be a controller drug and thus should be taken twice daily regularly. Its optimal effects are at about 2 weeks. If this drug is right for you, it will prevent the wheezing at night. However if you only cough and wheeze when lying down, we need to consider acid reflux as a cause as well. Read more

I've had a wheezing that is real noticeable in early am when laying down, and a dark reddish bruise on right rib cage doesn't hurt. Related?
Wheezing while laying down. Occasionally bottom of rib on right side hurts. Can't take deep breath. My dr said my lungs sound fine though.?
Could be the ribs...: Ribs can hurt at the cartilage. The ribs actually move at the cartilage. There are joints where different bones meet. Inflammation (irritation, tenderness, pain) there is called costochondritis. For that, Motrin or advil (ibuprofen) can help. If symptoms persist, then the doctor can do a re-evaluation to look at the x-rays, the lungs, the liver, the gall bladder, and other organs in that area. Read more
Wheezing at night when laying down but no cough? Dr said it was asthma but I'm not sure? My chest gets tight as well sometimes
It happens: Asthma is a variable condition most known for reversible restriction to airflow in the tiny airways. This is represented best by wheezing or "tightness". Cough is a less specific feature and may or may not be present on any specific occasion. Try to learn as much as you can about asthma and how it may be affecting you. It is a very significant illness & true asthma is a lifelong problem. Read more
Bad cough and producing yellow sputum. Notice wheezing from my chest when I laugh or lie down. Cough worse when laying down. What should I take?
Trouble breathing while laying down and dizziness. Once sitting up it begins to feel better but continue wheezing and feeling dizzy for an hour after?
Asthma: Sounds an awful lot like asthma to me - often there is dust or bed mites, or other foreign proteins in bedroom air that triggers an attack. You should carefully wash all your bed linens, bed clothes, but also dust, remove old reading materials, wash your drapes, vacuum under the bed etc. Don't use scented cleaner. An inhaler medication may be indicated, best obtained from your family doc. Read more

I'm having wheezing, chest pain, itchiness all over my body. Its easier to breath while laying down. I feel like somethings bubbling in my lower throat?
I have wheezing when I exhale in the morning for the last 10 weeks but only when lying on left side, not sit or stand or climp stairs. Have HH 4cm?
Just a thought:
This sounds a bit like a local obstruction which is acting like a "ball valve" making "noise when you shift your position. ..a BRONCHIAL ADENOMA (benign growth) and sometimes an 'inhaled" foreign body (eg peanut) can produce this "ball valve" effect. Check this idea out with your PCP (primary Care Provider) Just a thought. Hope it helps

Airway obstruction: Wheezing is the musical sound created when air is rushing through a narrowed airway. When wheezing occurs on expiration, this is a very common symptom of asthma or copd. This may be accompanied by cough, shortness of breath or chest tightness if it is asthma. Less common causes of wheezing that are serious are heart failure, foreign body or tumors in the airway.
