Parenchymal density: is a very nonspecific term, unfortunately. It could mean anything from scar to mass to pneumonia to collapse of a small lung segment. Without the images to review, it is difficult to determine. Likewise, there are both acute and chronic causes of cystic changes. No: You could have more mucus on one side producing more sounds. Pneumonia could affect one side only. Occasionally, you could have aspirated something into one lung causing more problems there. Fungal problems can occur in asthma and could be localized to one side. ...Read more
