If a z-pack was unsuccessful in treating bronchitis, is there logic in a dr giving another one for a 2nd round? Bronchial spasms, wheezing, cough..

No.: This does not make good sense. Most bronchitis is viral and does not respond to antibiotics. A second course will generally not do any better. Unless you had signs or symptoms that specifically suggested bacterial infection I would hold off on antibiotics and consider other agents for the wheezing and cough. ...Read more

My baby is wheezing a bit with his bad head cold. He's on meds now. Do I still need to give him breathing treatments? He hasn't been wheezing unil now.

Age? Why on nebs?: Your? Raises? . Breathing rx is one good way to moisten the airways of a congested/wheezing kid which helps them get mucous up. Problem w/ excess mucus; slight wheezing if exercising hard. Doc says it's likely allergies. Why prescribe potentially dangerous drug like Albuterol?

Asthma: Allergies can trigger asthma. Antihistamines will not help asthma. Albuterol is a first line medication to relieve the spasms of airway muscle that occurs with asthma. It is an excellent medication for occasional use. If albuterol helps but you need it more than twice a week, a preventative medication may be needed. If albuterol does not help, then other causes of symptoms need to be considered. ...Read more

How does one get rid of the odor caused by mold (black) which has been in basement for several years to prevent my kid from wheezing?
