Wheatgrass Powder Dosage
YES!!! 1 ounce/day: In an impressive study of 20 transfusion-dependent patients with mds ferritin levels decreased from an average of 2, 250 to 950 after 30 ml of wheatgrass juice/day for 6 months- see http://www. Mdsbeacon. Com/news/2009/06/02/study-shows-iron-chelating-properties-of-wheat-grass-juice-asco-2009/ I don't see any harm in trying even higher amounts- there would be no danger to drinking 1 oz 2x/day.
Wheatgrass Laxative: I understand your desire to know about wheatgrass as a laxative. It is primarily used as a concentrated source of nutrients. There is not enough scientific evidence for use as a laxative. At age 42, Stresses of marriage, separation, divorce, parenting, children leaving home, can cause emotional turmoil, resentment, tension, lack of control and constipation. Yes: No contraindication to take organic wheatgrass powder while you are breastfeeding.
I mix wheatgrass, barleygrass, maca powder, spirulina, chlorella, psyllium husk and scai berry with carrot and apple juice every morning, is it good?
Nothing wrong: There is no concern about any of the ingredients you mention. Am not sure whether to say it is "good" since other unprocessed foods are probably as good. It is an interesting combination of ingredients. I presume you did some research before choosing them? If you feel it helps you then there is no reason that I know of not to continue with it.
Yes: Not only can you mix these but there are many "superfood" powders that have both of these, often combined with other nutrients like chlorella, barley grass, oat grass, fruit and vegetable extracts and herbs. My personal favorite superfood powders are ORAC Energy Greens from Paradise Herbs and Vitamineral Green from Health Force Nutritionals.
Cows like it!: But they prefer the natural form. I don't think wheat grass has any "special" nutritional value in any form. It helps the seller much more than the buyer/user. Honest. There are many claims of healthy benefits ranging from heavy metal detoxification to preventing cancer. I think this is just a relatively (bad tasting) harmless form of modern snake oil. Sorry.
Sure: Don't expect any health benefits. If you are interested in the fascinating world of plant-based natural healing, find a holist in your community who can guide you through this area. Best wishes.
I am allergic to grass pollen as I have hay fever. Is it ok to take wheat grass supplement? It's raw powder.
Will Green powder, ingredients chlorella, moringa, spirulina, matcha green tea, wheat grass, ashwaganda, and turmeric interact with metoprolol?
No.: But why would you want to combine them in the first place?
I ingested one tablespoon of wheat grass powder mixed with water for the first time today. I now have a slightly runny nose. Detoxing or allergy?
Not detoxing: This could be an allergy or just a side effect of the supplement. Best to stop using it either way
It's a vegetable: Wheatgrass can be considered a vegetable, and has chlorophyll, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes. There are "claims" about the "health benefits" of wheatgrass ranging from providing supplemental nutrition to having unique curative properties. Haven't seen any scientific studies on humans to prove the claims, but it should be nutritious if eaten as a vegetable part of a balanced diet.See 1 more doctor answer
Website info says: Wheatgrass is generally considered safe, although a few individuals have reported nausea, headaches, hives, or swelling in the throat within minutes of drinking its juice. Hives and swollen throat are often signs of a serious allergic reaction and should be handled as an emergency. Anyone having these kinds of symptoms after ingesting wheatgrass may have even more severe reactions to it later.
Unknown: But I would doubt it would. The easiest way would be testing it out yourself. If it works for you, regardless of the mechanism. So much the better.
Question not clear: Any food substance has the potential to be contaminated with bacteria like those you mention if the soil in which they are grown or the person harvesting or packaging it has not practiced sanitary precautions. Adding wheatgrass to what?
Yes: Yes, I know of no evidence that large amounts of wheatgrass juice is harmful. See http://hippocratesinst. Org/wheatgrass/benefits-of-wheatgrass.
Just anecdotes: Anecdotes aren't science that you should bet your life on. I found two studies, both small ones in obscure journals. Since there's no placebo controls (you know whether you're drinking wheatgrass), it's no wonder that there were "positive results". Everything from nature nas nutrients. But do you really think the juice from grass clippings is going to cure disease?
