What would happen to your eyes if you keep them open for 24 hours?

No: Speak with your prescribing physician. If you are developing sedation at peak oxycodone levels it may indicate that you are not properly metabolizing the drug, and that may indicate problems with liver/kidney. There also may be other health conditions or drug=drug interactions going on - your collagen/vascular disease may be partly responsible. See your doctor. ...Read more

My eyes swell up a lot during and after crying, sometimes lasting for more than 24 hours after. Could this be a kind of allergic reaction?

Unlikely: Swelling of the area around the eyes is typical after crying and can persist for longer than a day. A contact allergy would likely involve swelling that persisted for longer than this. Environmental allergies can cause swelling, but it would not change in nature in relation to crying. ...Read more

Dryness or virus: When the surface of the cornea (the window that lets light in the eye front) gets disturbed then there can be significant pain and light sensitivity. This can be caused by dryness building up overnight or by an early virus infection settling in on the cornea. If the eye is red, and the vision is disturbed more than one hour after awakening, then you should consult with your ophthalmologist. ...Read more
