Photo might help: Brown patches skin on penis head after circumcision at 17 years old. Probably just a hyperpigmentation as you grow older. If that is the case you don't have much to worry about. On the other hand if you have any other urinary symtoms such as burning, red urine, irritation of the skin of penis, etc. It may be worthwhile to check with your doctor. A photograph may help. Thank you and good luck!!! ...Read more

I have lumps or skin tags (from a bad circumcision) on the underside of my penis shaft that I want removed. How much will this procedure cost?

The "skin tags": Could possibly be hpv infection--genital warts. On men they are frequently flat, slightly raised papules, and can be very different sizes and textures. If you have ever had unprotected sex with anyone, this might be the cause. Might be a good idea to talk to a urologist as they could remove the lesions no matter what the origin. Cost would be up to insurance coverage, or what you could negotiate. ...Read more

What causes cuts on the foreskin of an uncircumsized penis? Of an adult male? And is there anything that can remedy this? Besides lube/circumcision?

Balanitis?: Overall the most common explanation is balanitis (the medical term for inflammation of the head of the penis and foreskin). Some are due to bacterial or yeast infection, others "nonspecific". Herpes is possible, but only for sores that appear for 1-2 weeks, clear up, and don't recur for at least several more weeks. See a doctor, preferably a urologist, for diagnosis and treatment advice. ...Read more

Will a circumcision scar halway down my sons penis cause painful erections when he gets older? He doesn't complain now. Was too much skin taken?

Unlikely: Unless there is too little skin covering penile shaft. Location of scar on shaft varies with circumcision technique. Circumcisions performed with mogen clamp tend to leave more inner foreskin so scar is further down the shaft. Push down on skin on either side of penile base with a thumb on either side to see if penis looks long enough. If not see a pediatric urologist. Or send photo confidentially. ...Read more

My son is 3 and is circumcised but this evening while potty I noticed his penis is red and swollen. What could be the cause?

Few possibilities: Inflammation of the penis can be related to conditions such as balanitis (swelling of the head of the penis) balanoposthitis (inflammation of foreskin and head of penis in uncircumcised males). It also can be due to urethral irritation or infection. Redness and/or swelling of the penis needs examination. Further evaluation by a physician is needed. ...Read more
