What will my doctor due to tell whether I have fibroadenoma or not?

This can be done under local anesthesia at your doctor's office or breast center with a pin-sized incision and minimal discomfort. ...Read more

At my last check up, I forgot to tell the doctor about breast fibroadenoma. Is that ok?

At my last check up, I forgot to tell the doctor about breast fibroadenoma. Is that ok?

Depends: Is your doctor aware that it had been present in the past or is it very new for you? Have you had it evaluated for any changes by ultrasound? Do you have any family risks for breast cancer? If it is something that has been present and stable for some time, then you could discuss it at your next visit. If it is concerning or changing for you, contact the doctor soon. ...Read more

Had a biopsy, got fibroadenoma in breast, why would my doctor want to remove this?

Had a biopsy, got fibroadenoma in breast, why would my doctor want to remove this?

Your choice: Many women feel more comfortable if any dominant breast mass is removed. If a dangerous tumor arises near it, the fibroadenoma may mask its presence. Read about cryoablation rather than surgery -- perhaps this would be the right choice for you. Reasonable women differ in their wishes when it comes to fibradenomas -- whatever informed choice you make will be the right one. ...Read more

Good evening doctors, pls docs, cld u pls differentiate Fibroadenosis and Fibroadenoma, also Fibrocystic change. Thank u doctors.

The breast is made of stromal and glandular tissue components; stromal includes fat and fibrous/scar-like material while glandular is the tissue that produces secretion. Both can be increased diffusely (fibroadenosis; fibrocystic change) or locally (fibroadenoma). ...Read more

If fibroadenoma in breast is benign then why does the doc want to see me 6 months later? I thought it wasn't cancerous.

There is a remote: chance it might be a more aggressive fibroepithelial tumor with features overlapping fibroadenoma(a very indolent form of fibroepithelial lesion), so the short interval follow up is a safety net of sorts...if the lesion grows quickly, it needs to be removed. ...Read more
