Hi docs, would Ambien (zolpidem) show up as benzodiazepine in an urine drug screen sent to a lab?

Hi docs, would Ambien (zolpidem) show up as benzodiazepine in an urine drug screen sent to a lab?

No: Ambien/zolpidem, although sharing properties with benzodiazepines, is distinct enough not to give a positive as a benzodiazepine on a standard urine drug screen testing for benzodiazepines. That said, a special test can be done to look for zolpidem metabolites if desired. Further, it is recommended to only take medications prescribed to you making it expected for you and your doctor if tested for. ...Read more

Examples are: colonoscopy for colon polyp or cancer; mammograms for breast lesions or cancer; psa a blood test that could indicate enlargement of cancerous prostate tissue; blood sugar or hemoglobin a! c for diabetes. Can you tell me if on a random drug screening test what will show up false positive for a diabetic?

Can you tell me if on a random drug screening test what will show up false positive for a diabetic?

Probably not but. ..: What is being looked for is the value of the glucose in the blood at that moment that the blood is drawn. It is very specific for the amount of glucose. If you ate a food containing glucose or another carb which could be converted to it not too long before the blood was drawn then the value of the glucose would rise. A better test which looks back 90 days is Hemoglobin A1c. ...Read more

What should I do if a colorectal cancer screening test shows an abnormality?

What should I do if a colorectal cancer screening test shows an abnormality?

Follow-up: It is impossible to make a specific recommendation without knowing what test was performed and it's specific finding. Nevertheless, I am 100% certain that the physician that ordered/performed the screening test has a follow-up plan designed for you. In general, if an abnormality is found by x-ray or occult blood testing, a formal colonoscopy is recommended. ...Read more

How should I prepare for a drug and alcohol screening/test coming up soon?

How should I prepare for a drug and alcohol screening/test coming up soon?

Depends: I assume you are using drugs since you asked this question. Stop using. Depending on what test (s) they are using, and what drugs you are using, most drugs and their metabolites are out of the body in as little as 3 days. Some drugs, particularly marijuana, may stick around in fat cells for weeks or even a few months. There is no way to flush drugs out of the body, and masking it doesn't work. ...Read more

Will using zdot hair cleanser work in passing a hair drug screening test for meth used meth onlly 3 times in the last two months?

Will using zdot hair cleanser work in passing a hair drug screening test for meth used meth onlly 3 times in the last two months?

Doubt it: Zdot is an expensive shampoo ($34.95 for one use, and that's "guaranteed" for only 24 hours because your body oils will re-contaminate the hair, supposedly.) once you've used meth, the drug could be in your hair for 3 months. If using at all, it's very dangerous and very addictive. Please get help for your drug use. Http://www. Crystalmeth. Org/cma-meeting-directory. Html. ...Read more

Can a urine drug screen tell exactly the date, type of drug and time it was taken? The reason I ask is I am being told by pain management that becaus

Drug screening: A UDS can tell if you have been taking a prescribed medication. By measuring levels and metabolites we can have a pretty good idea if you have taken it as prescribed as the quantity will be within certain expected ranges. This is one method used to monitor compliance. ...Read more

5 months ago was prescribed tramadol by ER. I went to Pain management for first time and forgot to tell them I took 1 but told them about my oxycodone before drug screen. What do I do at next visit when she gets results?

Come clean fast!: Let your pain management doc know that you usually take oxycodone for chronic pain, but that you had more pain and took the tramadol. All of these controlled substances will be seen in your urine drug test. It's better to let them know that you forgot to tell them before you have to face accusatory questioning like, "So, where did the tramadol come from? " ...Read more

I take flourazapam for insomnia and am currently out My wife takes ambien (zolpidem) In my business we take a monthly hair test will the ambien (zolpidem) show up?

Yes: Ambien (zolpidem) can show up in hair even after 1 dose. I do not know if your work tests for this specifically, or just sedatives in general. I would not recommend taking another person's medication anyway because it may not work for you, or affect you badly. Especially since your work tests you and you do not have a prescription yourself, you should not take your wife's Ambien (zolpidem). ...Read more

I take Zoloft, lamictal, gabapentin and ambien, I just took an oral drug test for work - can they confirm that I'm on rx if I get any false positives?

You can!: Gather together (if you don't still have copies) proof of your Rx's from the Dr (s) and simply present them if necessary. Be as confident as you can and know that for many jobs it would be illegal for anyone to discriminate against you for being treated. You might need to show them evidence - but that's fine! You should be ok. ...Read more

If I store my urine in a plastic sealed bottle and then heat to 90-100 F after 4 days will it pass scrutiny at a urine screening test.

Honesty = best med: Probably not. Why do you want to do that? Why would you have to do that? If they accept an unmonitored collection, that is poor practice on their part. Chain of custody required: samples have to be observed, collected fresh & at body temperature warm to the touch. If this is a prescribed drug by your doctor, report it, so when the test comes back hot, they won't be surprised and they may OK it. ...Read more
