Vitamins and UTI: There is no vitamin that can cure uti's and yeast infections. Vitamin c acidifies the urine and makes it harder for bacteria to grow and cause uti's and it is not a cure. If you have frequent uti's, a urologist may be able to help them from happening again, if you have some type of obstruction that can be relieved. Yeast infections need medication. I have been diagnosed with BV several times. I've taken Flagyl & some vitamins that helped but it eventually comes back what can help? Will yogurt too?

Recurrent BV: Recurrent bacterial vaginosis is very common. BV is hard to treat and permanently clear up. Yogurt or probiotics are not likely to help. Two options often are effective: taking metronidazole (Flagyl®) once a week; or vaginal boric acid capsules. Discuss the best choice with your doctor. Also, if sexually active consider consistent condoms for a few weeks; and/or no sex with female partners. ...Read more

Recurrent BV...: ...is common, difficult, often very frustrating for both patient & doc. BV is not necessarily an STD, but sex often can trigger it and consistent condoms sometimes help. But treating partners doesn't help. Preventive treatment with vaginal metronidazole (MetroGel®) or boric acid vaginal capsules sometimes helps.
