What type of specialist handles lap band surgery?

What type of specialist handles lap band surgery?

General Surgeon.: General surgeons perform the surgery to place the lap band. Some of these general surgeons have undergone fellowship training (1 year) in bariatric surgery to learn these techniques as well as other types of weight loss operations (gastric bypass, duodenal switch, etc.). There is no separate board certification process outside of that for general surgeons through the american board of surgery.

What type of doctor can determine if I have had vagus nerve damage from lap band surgery?

What type of doctor can determine if I have had vagus nerve damage from lap band surgery?

Special Blood Test: Unfortunately, there is no 100% diagnostic test to confirm vagal nerve injury. Gastric emptying studies are often ordered but are notoriously unreliable. The best test is measurement of pancreatic polypeptide (pp) after Insulin administration. Normal secretion of pp is mediated by the vagus nerve in response to low blood sugar. If the vagus is injured, the pp level remains low after insulin.

Wanted to know if it is okay for me to atleast have a lap band surgery?

Wanted to know if it is okay for me to atleast have a lap band surgery?

Lap band: Can't answer that in such a short space. I spend an hour discussing that with new patients. You need to meet the bmi requirements first. If you do, you may then be a candidate for surgery. If you are, the next question is which operation is best for you. Just because you want a lap band doesn't mean that is the right operation for you. See http://www. Lapband. Com/ http://www. Realize. Com/.

Can you tell me if I could get the lap band surgery with minimal change disease?

Here are some...: This Q has been longstanding with no answering. Despite not an expert in bariatrics, based on my lifelong digestion of medical knowledge coupled with common sense, I could not see any interaction between both through uneventful lap band surgery since minimal change disease denotes the usually uneventful kidney changes from various reasons. More? Ask your doctor straight, not circuitous timely.

Are regular bouts of severe gastro common after lap band surgery? (op 12 months ago)

No: If you are having stomach problems after your lap-band you should see your bariatric surgeon to find out what the problem is. Stomach problems including vomiting and nausea or pain are not normal after any weight loss surgery and should be investigated, explained, and corrected.
