What Type Of Doctor Do I See When My Lymphocytes Ar High
Hi. Got called by my doctor to make an appointment to see her as my 2 monthly blood tests showed an elevated lymphocytes and low urea. I have Crohn's?
The first questions: Are what is the total wbc? Is the lymph percentage high?, or the total number? The most likely answer is a relative decrease in neuts related to your crohn's drugs. ...Read more

Hi I just recently got a CBC done because of very bad migraines. The doctor said I have a high eosinophil and lymphocyte count. Please explain! Could?
Follow up: The question is how high and are there any abnormal cells. This will probably reveal nothing about the migraines, but if way off, may point to significant illness elsewhere. ...Read more

It still could be ap: It still could be appendicitis but the lymphocytes suggest maybe a viral infection. There is a well validated score system called the alvarado score which predicts the chance that your symptoms are from appendicitis. See my website for more at www. Appendicitis. Pro. See "do I have appendicitis? You should definitely see a doctor today. Discuss getting a ctscan with her. ...Read more
Hello. I just had a very bad food poisoning (temporarily living in India). The doctor here took a blood test to check for Dengue and Malaria. Came back negative, however my neutrophils count was high (88) and lymphocytes low (8). Is that normap durin?
2 swollen lymph nodes in neck history of melanoma CBC normal apart from high lymphocytes chest X-ray normal, doc not doing any more tests, worried.
Questions: Lots of questions to help figure this out. Where are the nodes, where was the melanoma, how deep was it and how was it treated? How long ago was the melanoma found? If the nodes are in the drainage basin of the primary melanoma, that is more cause for worry than if they are elsewhere. ...Read more

Hi Doc,,, My lymphocytes is 54% is this bad or good? Why? What can I do 2 make it normal thanks...
Well...: It's true that this is higher than the normal reference range. .. And may be caused by a ton of different factors. Essentially all that this shows is that your immune system has been activated. If discuss further with your doctor. .. Could be as simple as an infection/medication or something worse. Hope that helps! ...Read more
Can doctors tell me what does myelogenous leukemia affect and what does lymphocytic leukemia affect?
Doc said labs were fine. Lymphocytes keep going down. Are they anything to worry about? Picture of labs in profile.
In my CSF Pathology Report said: "degenerative atypical lymphocytes". My Doc didn't explain me. Is this significant? What's it?
Not usual terms: The terminology you've written isn't what we commonly hear in a path report in terms of the differential description in CSF. If you'd like to upload this report or if you have it in Spanish (I am fluent) please write to me at: www. Healthtap. Com/dr-drsaghafi & I'll be happy to interpret these results for you as well as discuss the condition that resulted in testing CSF in the first place. Salud! ...Read more
Few years ago I had brucellosis. Since then my lymphocytes are slightly above the normal. Is it safe or should I go to a doctor?
Probably just you: Ignore percentages and look only at absolute counts. The reference range is set so that several percent of healthy folks fall outside. And who's counting your lymphocytes if not a physician? Be grateful for having recovered from brucellosis and for good health. ...Read more
My lymphocyte count is 840. Diagnosed with Leukopenia as well. Doctors have given me no answers to why. I am weak, tired and a lot of gastric issues?
Should I go to the doctor? I think I jammed my finger in gym class today, but I'm not too sure. It's not swollen or bent, it just hurts a lot when I'm writing, typing or texting.
I: I would ice the finger and take Motrin or advil (ibuprofen) to help prevent swelling. Also refrain from using the finger (e.G typing / texting). If the pain does not subside in a day then have the finger examined, and if necessary x-ray'd. Even though it may not be broken, you could have sustained ligament damage. If you find that you have lost the range of motion in the finger you should seek help. ...Read more
I'm getting purple blotches on my skin. My doc suggested a CBC and everything is normal except lymphocytes (19% reference is 25-40%) what could it mean?
Maybe nothing: That does not concern me. Any medications you are on? Any bleeding? Are the purple blotches on exposed areas? Do they blanch when pressed? ...Read more
I have just received a letter from my doctor saying that my blood count showed a mildly raised lymphocyte and white cell count, what does it mean?
Can a hiv combo test be wrong after 3weeks, p24 + antibody negative I went to my doctor and he said I had reactive lymphocytes. I have given symptoms?
Reassuring, but...: At 3 weeks, the "combo" or "duo" HIV blood test is positive 80-90% of the time, so your result is reassuring. However, you need follow-up testing to be certain, e.g. another combo test at 4+ weeks. If your exposure was particularly high risk (e.g. unprotected anal, known positive partner) and/or your symptoms typical for new HIV, ask your doctor about other tests, such as DNA/RNA testing. ...Read more
Hi doctor. My brother is 8 years old and he have a slight increase in his lymphocytes count as 54%, 0% monocytes, mcv is noted as 72.9fl, mch as 2?
Hard to assess: Other than small red cells, suggesting iron deficiency or a hereditary hemoglobin defect, the numbers are not conclusive for anything. When you submit a question you should provide better background information and ask a related question. Skimpy info with no information about why the lab was done is not enough. You are welcome to start over. Your questions are never linked & we cannot see uploads. ...Read more
Doc, I'm 44 to make with bmi 29-30. Got hematoma test. My lymphocyte count is. 16 but normal values is. 25 to. 35. Is the low count due to obesity?
Hi Ed Hemogram test?: The obesity is not usually associated with low lymphocyte count and in women who are obese, it is usually elevated based on 'Metabolism' Journal report. Your other symptoms such as rash, itching may be related to infectionsetc. As other causes of lymphocytopenia include immune deficiency, autoimmune dis, blood diseases, viral or other infections, you may need to see a hematologist or immunologist ...Read more
13.7 wbc, absolute lymphocyte result of 3.6 range was 1.5 to 3.5 indicative of lymphoma? Neut. Abs. 9.2. Range 1.5 to 6.6. Doctor not worried But I am
Do not worry: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your WBC count is just above normal and mostly due to neutrophils, the latter suggest some infection rather than lymphoma. I am in agreement with your doctor. ...Read more
Hello doctor, My lymphocyte count is 48% and I am having a lot of excessive hair fall. Are these two related? How can I get rid of hair fall?
Hi, I am 26 year old female, weight 8st 2. I recently had full blood count as I kept bleeding under skin. They checked my platelet levels and said there were fine. I am concerned my lymphocyte count was 1.4 is this normal? Doctors don't seem to be concern
Normal: To answer your question: the lymphocyte count is on the lower end of normal. It does not help to evaluate for possible causes of recurrent petechiae/bruising with info given. Would help to know more about the bleeding (how often, appearance, past history etc). vonWillebrand disease may be a consideration given relatively high prevalence. Otherwise, consider virtual consult for directed advice. ...Read more
Hi doc I have problem about my health many time I go laboratory I don't what is the mean of this monocytes the result is h 1.2 and reference range is (0.0-1.0)10e9/l and then lymphocytes is result h 4.7 ref range (0.5-3.3)10e9/l and then wbc result is 13
Mono-lymphocytosis: You have increased white blood cells, from lymphocytes and monocytes. Although benign reactions like infections or immune reactions are known causes, it is good to consult a hematologist and work your blood with smear and flow cytometry, clinical history and exams, and send these test for diagnosis to a blood specialist, like a hematopathologist. It is now data incomplete and too soon to tell.:) ...Read more

Neg. Hiv, after 23 months post exposure. Recently wanted to check my immune status, to find out I got low lymphocytes t4, t8. Doc ordered HIV PCR! Why?
Low MCH low MCHC low MPV low LYMPHOCYTES// in urine; 7.5 PH, microscopic ana. WBC 6-7 and RBC 0-1. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME DOC.? please answer. Tx
That's not possible: To answer without an exam, history, and other basic elements of a medical assessment. You do have a local doctor since these tests were requested. What does your doc say about these things and why they were checked? You have lab values, but there is no detail about how you are feeling. That's the most important part. Abnormal labs in isolation are usually meaningless. Ask your doctor? S. ...Read more
WBC (2.8)L, RBC (4.12)L, MONOCYTES (19) H, NEUTROPHIL ABSOLUTE (1.33) LYMPHOCYTE ABSOLUTE (0.88). My bloodwork was normal minus these results. My doctor said I just have allergies. This is ridiculous. Any explanation?
Abnormal. See doctor: Allergy may be suggested by the presence of an elevated eosinophil count which in fact your blood test showed a zero count. These tests are abnormal (very low WBC) and you may have very low resistance to infection. I recommend that you consult a hematologist ASAP. If you can tell us what symptoms you have, we may be able to give you a better answer. You are right about your intuition ...Read more
