Is there something they will give me for anxiety when i'm doing the chest CT scan without dye?

Is there something they will give me for anxiety when i'm doing the chest CT scan without dye?

Maybe: A chest ct scan without dye/contrast injection should only take less than a minute on a newer ct scanner. If you can close your eyes and hold a deep breath for about 40 seconds, and not panic, then you may not need any anxiety meds. You can practice this at home by covering up under your bedsheets at night. The vast majority of my ct scan patients can do their scans without anxiety meds. ...Read more

Is it possible to get lymphoma from one chest CT scan?

Is it possible to get lymphoma from one chest CT scan?

Not sure what you...: ...mean but if you are asking if the radiation exposure from just one CT scan is enough to cause cancer, I think that would be exceedingly unlikely. There are inherited traits that lead to increased cancer risk with radiation exposure but even then it would be a very rare occurrence. Cannot say it is impossible, though. That is why scans have to be ordered when truly necessary, not capriciously. ...Read more
