What To Use For Stretch Marks During Pregnancy
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

STRETCH MARKS: Stretch marks are very thin scars that develop when the skin is stretched for a long time. Treatments that promise to remove stretch marks are laser resurfacing therapy & dermabrasion. I am skeptical about these. No creams or lotions work. All are pretty expensive. Nothing over-the-counter works. Check with a dermatologist to see what he/she might recommend. But i wouldn't be hopeful. ...Read more
What can I do for the stretching marks during pregnancy.. This is my second pregnancy... Is there any cream i can use?
I wouldn't spend $: From my experience, the creams don't work. I've seen women who are super slim prior to pregnancy and gained very little wait have horrible stretch marks, all the while using the expensive creams. And then other women who are obese and gain 70# in their pregnancy who have none. I think stretch marks are primarily genetic, so i don't recommend the creams. If you want to try, likely no harm. ...Read more
Not much you can do : Stretch marks are common and genetics play a big role. If your mom had them you probably will too. You can change your "jeans" but not your "genes." try not to gain more than the recommended amounts of weight. Many people use over the counter skin lotion. This keeps the skin healthy and decreases itching but may not prevent stretch marks. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Give them some time: They may lighten up with time, and you can decide whether you still want to do something about them later. Try cocoa butter to help keep the skin elastic. Avoid sun damage. Sometimes, retinoids (creams often used for acne) can help, and pulse-light or laser can as well. ...Read more
17 weeks pregnant, what creams should be used to avoid creating stretch marks on my belly ? Thanks
That's Stretching It: Sorry, but as far as I know, there's no magic cream or lotion for that. It's a result of the skin stretching a bit too fast to be able to adjust. Weight lifters get it too. I guess you could consider yourself a weight lifter too, just not muscle growing. Check the internet for all kinds of home remedies(for before and after birth)and pick some that appeal to you. Two Types: Stretch marks can be divided into two groups: red and white. The red stretch marks appear first and can be converted to the less noticeable white stretch marks with various laser treatments (designed to reduce the red appearance). The white stretch marks are, unfortunately, very difficult to treat. Individual practitioners have reported varying results with topical lasers, retin-a, and other anti. ...Read more

Skin tears: Stretch marks are tears in the skin cause by weight gain. They can be covered up, but not improved by creams and lotions. The only possibly effective therapy is cosmetic plastic surgery, but that's a big step for a non-health and non-life threatening problem. Bio oil won't help them whether you're pregnant or not. Save your money. ...Read more

Mederma: Many products claim to treat stretch marks after delivery, including cocoa butter, topical vitamin creams, etc. However, clinical trials have shown that a reasonably-priced product called mederma, originally produced for scars, does work well for stretch marks. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
There is no cure: A stretch mark is simply a tear in the skin which has been stretched beyond its flexibility. A person can only prevent stretch marks by not gaining too much weight during pregnancy. If you did gain much weight and now have loose skin, the stretch marks can be removed with the excess skin through a tummy tuck. See your local plastic surgeon for an evaluation. Make sure to lose extra weight. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
