Best to treat cause: First off, at least 2 of my siblings have suffered stress induced alopecia so I know how it can be related to nerves. However, not knowing you I am compelled to ask whether you've done a complete workup to discover if in fact, nothing else could be responsible such as hormones and such. Lots of reasons: Go see your family doc and even get a referral to a dermatologist specializing in hair loss. First, remember that stress can lead to hair loss. Child birth & hospitalization are classic causes of stress but so is surgery. Hair eventually comes back several months later. Thyroid disease can do this too.
