Dental pain: It is important that you see a dentist ASAP about your dental pain and get treatment. Do you have any swelling? How long have you been in pain? This can get worse and cause big problems. In the meantime ibuprophen can decrease your pain., ice can also help. Your local dental society can help you find a dentist or clinic if you don't have a dentist.

I'm having a bad toothache and my gum is inflamming now. Currently, I have cold and taking clarinase. Is synflex safe to take for the pain?

Not your best choice: Synflex is a medication usually used for the treatment of osteoarthritis and in some formulations has naproxen (which is a pain reliever). You would be better served taking Ibuprofen or aleve, or even Aspirin and tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain. Then, consult your dentist for treatment that may require antibiotics, etc.

Swelling: A localized swelling indicates an infection, so he really should be placed on antibiotics. If the ER is your only choice, a visit certainly will help.

Will hydrocodone show up in my drug test? I have a really bad toothache and I want to take a hydrocodone (leftover from my surgery last month). But i’m supposed to have a drug test at work next week. Will I test positive?

Will hydrocodone show up in my drug test? I have a really bad toothache and I want to take a hydrocodone (leftover from my surgery last month). But i’m supposed to have a drug test at work next week. Will I test positive?

Yes: Yes, narcotics will appear in your drug test. An out of date prescription is not valid. You should see a dentist and if they prescribe and treat then you have documentation of a problem. Your employer will either accept that or delay the testing.

Is it save to take 2 aleve (naproxen) at once I have a bad toothache?

Is it save to take 2 aleve (naproxen) at once I have a bad toothache?

Advil (ibuprofen) better: I have found Aleve to be more effective in dealing with muscular aches and pains. Advil or Tylenol (acetaminophen) (if not allergic to these) may be a better choice for toothache pain. See your dentist ASAP as it's only going to get worse.

I'm having a very bad toothache I took two extra strength excedrin around 30 minutes ago can I take 800 milligrams of ibuprofen?

I'm having a very bad toothache I took two extra strength excedrin around 30 minutes ago can I take 800 milligrams of ibuprofen?

Not smart: Adding overly large amount of one pain killer (anything more than 400mg Ibuprofen is not more effective than 400mg) to a large (extra strength aspirin) can do more harm than good. Pain caused by infected tooth (abscess). Pain killer will not cure infection. Antibiotics will only control, not cure, infection. See Dentist ASAP for appropriate Rx. That's the only way to fix your problem.

I'm pregnant and I have a bad toothache can I take ibuprofen tablets?

OB's like Tylenol (acetaminophen).: Please call your obstetrician about what they would recommend for a painful toothache. Many times they prefer tylenol (acetaminophen) for pregnant women. Also know that you should make an appointment with your dentist to actually take care of the toothache. Dental infections are bad for both the baby & the mom. Take care...

Please help! I need home remedies on a bad toothache!?

Although there: Are home remedies for tooth pain - they don't fix the underlying problem. They can also create more work for the dentist when you do get seen. The only really safe course of action - is to see the dentist promptly. If you control pain without addressing the actual cause - the problem may worsen.
