Time to remove it: A painful ovarian cyst that persists fro more than 6 weeks is not likely to be normal. Every women who is ovulating form an ovarian cyst with every cycle and they always go away on their own - if they persist they are not normal and usually require surgery. ...Read more

6-8 weeks: Normally, a ruptured cyst resolves in 6-8 wks. It depends on the size of the cyst and how much fluid spilled. Your body has to reabsorb the fluid. Sometimes, scar tissues forms as a result and causes chronic pain. Wait 2 more weeks, if not better, go see your gynecologist. You probably need a repeat ultrasound to be sure it's gone.
