Multiple reasons: Complaints like yours are often found in people who either chronic post nasal drip - pnd- (nasal drainage on to the vocal cords) or possibly even reflux. Not fully known: Mangosteen is a fruit rich in antioxidants and esp. Rich in compounds called xanthones that are anti-inflammatory & anti-microbial. Mangosteen is claimed to cure everything from bad breath to cancer but there is very little research on humans. Most of the claims are made by those selling it.
