I need some tips on how to give potty training of a 18 months old child?

I need some tips on how to give potty training of a 18 months old child?

A toddler who walks: from room to room, pulls his/her pants & pull-up or underpants up & down & says " pee-pee", "poo-poo" or "potty" to indicate he senses the urge to "go" is ready for daytime toilet training. If not, you may create a behavior problem . There's no harm in putting a potty chair in the bathroom for the child to sit on while you model using the toilet, but don't force the child to sit on it. ...Read more

When should I start potty training with my 10-month old baby?

When should I start potty training with my 10-month old baby?

Toilet Training: According to the NIH, your baby will probably be ready closer to 18 months. A baby will let you know when he or she is ready by signaling to you that their diaper needs changing. At that point, you can start training using a reward system and daily encouragement to use the toilet. Here is a link for you:https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/toilettraining.html ...Read more

My uncut son is potty training now, but my husband is cut. Does it make a difference?

My uncut son is potty training now, but my husband is cut. Does it make a difference?

No!: The foreskin should not change the way a male pees. I do suggest if any son watches his father pee, have dad sit on the toilet. That way he can do it like dad, sitting down, until he's old enough to aim! the biggest difference if his foreskin remains is you need to pull gently back and clean it daily, then teach him to do the same as he gets older. Don't force it if it doesn't pull easily! ...Read more

My son is 3 he will be4 in december, he shows no interest in potty training when he doses attempt to use the potty he sits for a short time.Help?

The best time to put: him on the potty is 15 minutes after a meal with his feet on a stool like a Little Looster. Let him blow bubbles. Put small, safe toys in a clear bowl on top of the fridge. When he asks what they're for, say, " Oh, they're for when you choose to pee-pee & poo-poo on the potty." Have a playdate with a potty-trained peer. Reward the peer for using the toilet without referencing your son's refusal. ...Read more

Can you advise for potty training my babies?

Can you advise for potty training my babies?

Be patient: Babies have different responses to potty training. Some are so self sufficient, independent, that they will resist anything that is n ot their idea. Others will allow you to provide direction and comply with your requests. Methods will vary depending of the personality of the child. Try not to make a big issue of it, set an example, reward successful use of the potty, do not punish failure. A great resource is a DVD called Baby Songs by Hap Palmer, the vignette “today I took my diapers off” motivates many an independent minded child to take charge of the process. Available online at Babysongs.com, the original one. ...Read more

I tried potty training for my 23 months toddler but my trials failed. When should I start trying again?

I tried potty training for my 23 months toddler but my trials failed. When should I start trying again?

Wait until ready: He/she may not be developmentally ready for potty training yet. Children need some core skills in order to potty train easily: able to say, 'i need to go potty' or the like, able to pull down/back up pants independently, wakes up dry in the morning. Without these skills it will be more difficult, so waiting is best. Most children potty train between 2 and 4, so there is a broad range of normal. ...Read more

Whats the normal age to start potty training my son? He's 19months old now and i feel like he should be potty trained?

Whats the normal age to start potty training my son? He's 19months old now and i feel like he should be potty trained?

Around 2: Most kids train around their second birthday. However, with any developmental milestone, age varies from child to child. You should not "expect" him to be trained by now, nor can he sing the national anthem yet. But he may be showing signs of interest, and then it's ok to start working with him. Many toddlers show some initial interest and then back away. Be patient and work with them, not against. ...Read more

Put him back in : pull-ups without discussing the issue unless he brings it up, then affirm that those public potties scared him a little, but that he chooses when the potties at home, preschool, etc. flush. Put small, safe toys in a glass bowl on top of the fridge. When he asks what they're for, the say, " Oh, they're for when you choose to pee-pee & poo-poo in the potty." I am potty training my 3 year old who has a strong personality. The only method that has worked is by having her naked. She still bed wets. Any advice?

Put her clothes on: If you have done rehearsal & she knows where the stuff is the best thing you can do is become her assistant, not her drill sergeant. A strong willed child must first understand when she gets the feeling she needs to go, & feel happy she is responding to that need.Telling her no more than twice a day that you will help is crucial. You can provide incentives for doing big girl things but relax. ...Read more

Caudal regression: syndrome, in which parts of the lower half of the body do not develop properly, is rare, but less rare in infants of diabetic mothers. If the lower spine & sacrum (pelvic bone) are malformed or the sacrum is absent, problems controlling bowel and bladder can occur. Ask her pediatrician to look for physical findings, then (s)he'll order X-rays or MRI & make appropriate referrals, if CRS is present. ...Read more

I have a two year old boy im potty training him but he freaks out he doesn't want to take off the diaper?

I have a two year old boy im potty training him but he freaks out he doesn't want to take off the diaper?

Too early?: Parents are highly motivated to toilet train their children ( less mess, less expense). Unfortunately, toddlers frequently are not ready as soon as the parents would like. Boys in particular are later to be ready for this training. I do not think that your son is ready for toilet training developmentally, and would recommend waiting until he is older. ...Read more

I've begun potty training my 3 year old daughter, but she fearful & is holding it for a long time (one day for 18 hours). What can I do to help her?

Several things: First, the ability to be toilet trained depends on neurological maturation. Second, toilet training is a skill that is easily shaped through positive reinforcement. Failures should be ignored and successes praised. Putting too much emphasis on the toilet training and failures can increase the child's resistance. Most children learn this skill easily if done in a relaxed manner. ...Read more

Adaptive/Self-Help: Delays require medical, neurological & developmental assessment. Medical causes may require referral to a specialist. At 5 there might be a number of things that might cause a regression in potty training. Need to rule out a uriunary tract infection.
